Candace was half way through her day and sat in her last class. The Laws of mass communications professor was a older distinguished man probably in his late 40s he had salt and pepper hair, icy blue eyes and was wearing a perfectly tailored grey suit. And Candace had to admit for a professor he wasn't half bad looking. Candace scanned the available seats and smiled when she saw blonde hair near the middle. She instinctively made her way over and sat next to him. "Hey" she said. "Oh hey, Candace right?" She nodded and took out her laptop. "I heard this professor is tough." He said, eyeing the man who was writing his name on the board. "Mr.Hayes"
"Scared you won't be able to keep up?" Candace smirked and Jeremy narrowed his eyes playfully. "Guess we'll have to see won't we?" Candace laughed and the teacher began speaking. "Good afternoon everyone. My name is Mr.Hayes and this WILL not be an easy course. I expect the work to be done with competence and on my desk on time. This is a money and Wednesday class. Assignments will be given every week on Monday and due the next Monday but readings must be done by Wednesday for discussions. Now, Who can tell me what Laws of mass communication means?" The class was silent. "Really? no one?" Candace slowly raised her hand. "Ah Ms...." "Flynn, Candace Flynn sir. Um it's the understanding behind freedom of speech and right to press and it's impact on society." The professor Stared for a moment before turning back to the board "Very good Ms.Flynn" Candace smiled and Jeremy rolled his eyes. "Someone's already a teachers pet" "jealous?" She asked and Jeremy scoffed. After class Candace gathered her things and walked out of Class her phone had been vibrating all through class. Jason had been texting her non stop. She was glad he seemed to miss her as much as she missed him. "Hey Candace wait up" she stopped in the hall when she heard Jeremy calling her. "So are you done for the day?" Candace sighed. "With classes, yes but I still have a ton to do." He nodded. "Okay Um, well I'll see you at the club tomorrow?" She nodded. "See you there"
Candace walked out of the journalism building and called Jason. It rang twice before he answered. "Hey babe"
"hey! I just got out of class. What's up?"
"Nothing much, I just miss you. My dad got me a job at that mechanic place down the block from your parents house. I'll save up enough to take you on a killer date when you get back." Candace smiled. "Awe that's sweet."
"Hey girl!" Candace looked over to see Vanessa waving her down. She was with another girl. She gave her a 'one sec' signal before going back to her call. "That's awesome babe but I have to go" "oh-um alright well I'll talk to you tonight" Candace nodded before realizing he couldn't see her then responded. "Alright babe talk to you later bye." She waved at Vanessa and walked over to her. "Hey!" "This is my friend Stacy," Candace waved at the petite Asian girl.
"Hi! I hear you're new here. I'm a second year student, so if you have any questions let me know! I'm a Criminal Justice major. Also, Captain of the karate club so if you have some butts that need a kickin I'm also your girl " Candace smiled and nodded. "Understood" "we were about to go to that coffee place that's attached to the library to study, you want to come?" Candace nodded. Sure! I was going to go to the library anyways, I have some books I need to find for my homework."
The library was the second grandest building on campus apart from the performance hall. Candace stared in awe. There were 3 rooms full of at least 50 computers each and a coffee shop called "The Java Cafe" near the entrance. There had to be millions of books in the 2 story building. Candace put her stuff on one of the tables and went to go find her books. First book was for her Math class which she found easily in the math book section. The second was a bit harder to find. That Mr.Hayes assigned 5 chapters of this text book to be read by the next class.
Candace reached the section She thought it could be in when she heard 2 girls talking behind the bookshelf. "That professor is mad if he thinks we're getting through all of these books in 1 semester." The other girl responded. "I know right? But hey maybe I'll fail on purpose and maybe he'll give me some 'private tutoring'" Candace grimaced at the insinuation. Gross she thought. She wondered who they were talking about but then remembered it wasn't her business and grabbed the book she was looking for before returning to the table with Stacy and Vanessa who now has pastries and drinks. "Here I got you a croissant" Vanessa said, sliding a croissant towards her. She smiled gratefully and took it before opening the thick textbook. "Geez you have to read that whole thing?" Stacy asked incredulously. "We'll not all at once but yeah eventually..." "you poor thing." Candace chuckled and started reading the first chapter.
2 hours later.
"Alright I think it's about to to wrap this up" Vanessa said slamming her book shut. "You guys go I think I'll read for a while longer. "Oh no girl you need to step away and take a break." Candace sighed and closed her book. Just then a guy with brown hair and green eyes and a fraternity shirt comes to their table. "Hello ladies my name is Steven and I wanted to formally invite you to the Gamma Gamma Sigma frat party tomorrow night. He handed them a flyer and candace eyed it suspiciously. "Oh nice! I hear you guys really know how to throw a party." Vanessa said and the guy smiled brightly. "Yup so don't miss it!" With that he went to another table of girls and told them basically the same thing. "We have to go" Stacy said. "Ummmm you guys have fun I'm gonna study." Candace said. "Um no you're not! You're coming with us" "but I-" No buts! We're gonna get super cute and go have fun" Candace sighed and smiled. "Fine".....
That night Candace was getting ready for bed when her phone started to ring. She picked it up and saw that it was Jason. "Hey babe" "hey! How was your day?"
"It was good! My class is pretty challenging but I like the challenge." "That's my girl. But don't study TOO hard you know how you can be" she sighed. "Yeah you're right..." "what about you? How was your day? "Oh it was alright...my boss hired some girl who thinks she knows so much about cars..." Candace chuckled. "Jealous much?" "Not funny!" She laughed. "I'm sure you'll work it out but I have to go to bed now" "okay babe goodnight" "goodnight"
She hung up and got into bed.The next day after her classes Candace found herself in the journalism building looking for the journalism club. She was but early but she'd rather be early than late. She looked at the numbers on the doors until she found the one she was looking for. She pulled the door open and the classroom was pretty much empty aside from one person. "Hey" she said entering the classroom. Jeremy looked up from a price of paper and grinned. "Hey! Candace you made it" "Ofcourse I did"
"Well we still have a bit of time before the others show up but I can give you a sneak peak on what We'll be discussing.
Candace nodded excitedly.
"Okay so here we make a newspaper that we distribute to different buildings in the school. It's all student ran which makes it cool." Candace nodded. "Also, we assign different people to do certain columns every week." "Wow, that's so cool!" She said excitedly. "It's pretty cool...just like you" Candace blushed. "Oh Um...thanks" "You're welcome.." They were silent for about a minute before students started coming in.After the club ended it was 7pm and it was time for Candace to get ready for the party with Vanessa and Stacy.
"Wow you look amazing" Candace gawked at Vanessa's outfit. Her hair was half up half down. She wore a midthigh length black dress, a lace choker and some black knee high boots. Stacy also looked nice with her ripped jeans and a hot pink tube top. Her hair was bone straight as usual and she wore some wedges. "What are you gonna wear, Candace?" Cadence shrugged. "I was thinking just going in what I've been wearing all day" They stared at her. "You're joking right?" Candace smiled sheepishly. "Here put this on" Vanessa said handing her an outfit. Candace rolled her eyes and went to put it on. It was a cute red strapless dress that went about mid thigh as well. She put her hair in a ponytail and wore some black flats. "You look cute! Let's go."
