Start of Something New

Chapter 14

"What classes do you have this semester?" she asked. "I've got Chemistry 101 today, Journalism 102: Digital Journalism tomorrow at 10am, Communications also tomorrow at 2pm, English: Creative writing at 9am Wednesday and for my elective I have music theory on Thursday at 11am"

"Oh nice I've got journalism, communications, and creative writing too. I also have Multicultural studies on Wednesday  at 11:15am and for my elective I chose Art on Friday at 8am"
"Nice I'm glad we have atleast 3 classes together." Candace smiled. "Me too"

"What can I get started for you guys?" The barista asked them. "I'll get a Caramel macchiato drink. What about you, Candace?" "Umm I'll have a small Caramel iced latte." She says. The barista nodded and charged him for the drinks. A couple of minutes later they grabbed their drinks and sat down at a two person table by the window.

After a few minutes of silence between them Jeremy cleared his throat. "Ahem..so I was thinking maybe later tonight we can go somewhere like on a date or something." He says sipping his drink in between. She nodded. "Yeah that sounds good, do you have any place in mind?" She asks.

"Yeah how does a nice dinner sound and then afterwards we can head back to my room and chill." He says. "Yeah sounds good to me, just let me know what time you want to meet up." She says. "Correction, I'll let you know what time I'm picking you up after I get out of class. Speaking of classes, mine is going to start soon so I'll see you later." He says standing up from his chair and pecking her lips quickly. "Okay" She says, waving him off.

After Candace finished drinking her coffee she pulled her phone out of her pocket and saw time on her phone and noticed she had 30 minutes to get to class. She then threw her empty cup away and grabbed her backpack and began making her way to her first class of the day.

Candace had just finished her first class of the day and It was now 11:15 and Candace and Vanessa were sitting inside a small crepe place sitting across from each other for lunch. "So why did you disappear in the middle of the night last night?" Vanessa asked her, smirking as if she already knew the answer to her own question. Candace smiled, feeling her cheeks up and began telling her about last night up until this morning.

"...And yeah" Candace says smiling the whole time she was telling her. "Hmm interesting so now you and lover boy are a couple now huh?" "Yes I suppose we are." She says. "And what about Jason?" "What about him?" She says shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly. "Well I mean I know you said you didn't feel a connection with him anymore but you did just break up with him." "Yes exactly I broke up with him and besides I really like Jeremy.

"We'll as long as you're happy then I'm happy for you" "thanks now enough about me what's been going on with you and Johnny? And how's Stacy doing? I feel like I haven't spoken to her in forever." She asked. "Well Stacy is doing good, you know her boyfriend is lover 's boy best friend" Vanessa says, making Candace's cheeks heat up.

"Hmm good to know I guess we'll have to plan a double date now back to the matter at hand how are you and Johnny doing?" "Pretty good actually we've been talking for a while now and it seems to be going okay so far." She says.

"That's good, how did you guys even meet? Or did you guys already know each other from before?" "We met the same way you met your lover boy." She says smirking at her. "Ah nice well you seem happy with him. "Yeah I am" Candace gives her a genuine smile feeling happy for Vanessa that everything is working out for her and Johnny.

Just then Vanessa's timer on her phone went off indicating she had to head to her next class. "Well I would love to stay and chat longer but I have to go so maybe I'll see you tonight unless you decide to spend the night again with your boyfriend." "Shut up" She says jokingly and waves her off.
