It took Candace's mom 3 or 4 rings for her to answer her call. "Hey sweetie, how's your date going?" "Mm..not so great I was actually calling to see if you could come pick me up from the restaurant Golden Calf?" "Oh yes of course...Um is everything okay with you and Jason?" She sighed "Mm not really..can you just let me know when you're here?" "Yes" Linda said and Candace hung up. As she waited for her mom to arrive she took out a five dollar bill from her purse to pay for Jason's drink since he just got up and left her. She was just grateful they hadn't eaten any of the food or she would have been stuck paying for that too. While she continued waiting she noticed some people kept looking at her sympathetically and to be honest she was a little embarrassed she hated causing a scene in a public place. Thankfully she didn't have to wait to much longer when she felt her phone vibrate in her hands and saw it was a text from her mom letting her know she was outside. She sighed and got up from the table and walked outside and into her moms vehicle.

"So...?" Linda dragged out as she pulled out of the parking spot. Candace sighed and looked down at her hands. "We broke up...well I broke up with him..." she said, hearing her mom silently gasp. "...Umm...are you okay?" She asked, looking at Candace with concern. She just shrugged and Linda just nodded her head. The entire ride back to her house was filled with silence. Candace didn't regret her decision to break up with him, sure she loved him and always would. Why wouldn't she he was her first love, her first everything but she wasn't in love with him like she once was.

Right as soon as they entered the house Linda put both her hands on Candace's shoulders "let's go talk in the living room." She sighed and followed her mom to the couch and sat down. "So what happened with you two?" She shrugged "well we drifted apart and to be honest mom...I love him and I always will but I'm just not in love with him anymore." Linda nodded her head. "I can understand that...is that the only reason why you broke up with him?" "Well...there's other reasons too...there's this guy that I met." She said, smiling at the thought of Jeremy. "His name's Jeremy and he's in my class..he's actually the one I did my project with..." Linda nodded her head. "So you developed feelings for him then?" Candace nodded her head and began playing with the fabric of her shirt. "Yeah I did..I didn't mean for it to happen but I can't help it he's a breath of fresh air and everything about him is amazing." Linda chuckled "well as long as you're happy does this Jeremy guy like you back?" She nodded her head. "He does she began, explaining to her mom how Jason surprised her except for the part of her drinking and then what had happened when she met up with Jeremy to work on their project and how jealous Jason was acting including when he broke up with her and so on she told her about them kissing except for him pinning her against the wall because she didn't think it was necessary to tell her that information.

Linda sighed "wow...well he sounds great...did you tell Jason about the kiss?" "No! He was already flipping out. I didn't need him, causing a bigger scene. "We'll as long as you're happy with your decision then I'll support you and I hope to one day meet this Jeremy guy." The rest of the night Candace and her mom spend it catching up on everything she told her mom how much she loved college and how close she's gotten with her roommate Vanessa.

Meanwhile...
These last two weeks that had gone by Jeremy was going crazy he couldn't stop thinking about Candace and that kiss. It was all he kept thinking about day and night. He knew it was wrong to kiss her especially knowing she's in a relationship with that dick but he couldn't help himself especially knowing she wasn't even certain if she had said no to him then yeah he wouldn't have kissed her but she wasn't giving him a clear answer. And that is exactly why he had to distance himself from her because he knew he wasn't going to be able to control himself around her every time he was around her whether it was at the club or they were having one of their study sessions together all he wanted to do was kiss her. So when she showed up at his door and heard her say that it was complicated and couldn't tell him that he knew she did feel something for him so he kissed her and then she took off and has been avoiding him ever since.

He was actually surprised her pathetic jealous boyfriend didn't come banging on his door but he guessed that was because she didn't tell him after all he knew if she had he probably would have especially after showing up just because she was at a party and they were flirting with each other.

So now here he was sitting on his parents couch spending some quality time with his little sister Suzy and his parents and friends as well. The whole time he had been back in California had really helped him distress from all of the studying and of course from Candace he really likes her but he's not going to push her to do anything she doesn't want to. He suddenly hears a knock at the front door snapping him out of his thoughts. He gets up to open it and is surprised to see his old high school peer. What was her name again? Brittany? He always thought she was attractive she was a cute blonde girl with big green eyes.

"Hi Jeremy" she says shyly "Um hey..Brittany? Right?" "Yeah that's correct..Um I heard that you were back in town and just wanted to catch up and see how you're doing?" "Oh..I'm doing good, thanks how are you doing?" "I'm doing really well too thanks..so I was actually stopping by to see if maybe you were interested in going out on a date..with me?"

"Oh...umm...listen Brittany I would love to but I'm sorta..Um..I'm talking to someone..I think." He said, clearing his throat afterwards. "Oh umm okay...we'll just make this even more awkward..." she says causing him to nod his head at her awkwardly. "We'll..Um I'm going to go but it was really nice seeing you again." She said waving an awkward goodbye and then she was gone. If Candace wasn't always running through his mind he definitely would have taken her up on the offer but who knows how things are going for her right now. Did she tell her boyfriend about their kiss? If so, did they break up? These questions kept running through his mind ever since Christmas break started. But guess he'll just have to wait to find out if she would ever speak to him again that is.

The rest of the time that Candace was in Danville she spend it going to different places around the city with her family and friends she went to the mall, dinner, with her family and overall she spend a lot of quality time with Phineas and Ferb they did think it was weird that Jason wasn't around so she ended up telling them she broke up with him but that was all she told them for now. But it was now time to head back to New York. She had to admit she was feeling really nervous on seeing Jeremy again. How would he react to seeing her again? Especially after she's avoided him for two weeks? Does he still feel the same towards her? How will she even talk to him again? All of these questions kept repeating themselves.

"Honey, are you ready to go?" Her mom asked at the foot of her door. "Yeah I'm ready." She says smiling while grabbing her luggage and heading downstairs to say goodbye to her dad and two brothers. "Goodbye darling, we're sure going to miss you." Lawrence says, giving her a big tight hug. "I'm going to miss you too dad but I'll see you guys again soon." She says pulling away and throwing her arms around Phineas and Ferb. "I'm going to miss you guys so much...please try not to build crazy things." Both of the boys instantly pull away looking at her like she's lost her marbles and broke out laughing hysterically. "Candace come on it's us we're talking about here you know we're going to build crazy inventions it's our thing." She chuckled "yeah who am I kidding but please be safe!" "Psh Please, you know we always have our safety helmets on." Ferb says while showing her." She laughs running her hands through their hair. "You boys are something else anyway. I have to go before I miss my flight but I'll see you guys at the end of my second semester." She says grabbing her luggage and heading outside to her mom's car.

"Bye mom I'm going to miss you so much" Candace says hugging her mom tightly one last time. "I'm going to miss you so much honey please let me know when you arrive. "I will bye" "bye" she says waving her daughter off. After Candace got herself checked in at the airport she walked in and sat on the airplane next to the window seat and laid her head back against the chair and closed her eyes for the rest of the flight.
