(Trigger Warning: Death)
Yeonjun wouldn't admit it, but he wanted to be with Beomgyu in a room alone. Actually his response to Soobin being in his car all of a sudden was enough to show his distress about his plan not going as he wanted. But booking two rooms at the motel was the perfect chance to fulfill his original intention with this road trip even just for a few hours.
"You sure Kai doesn't hold a grudge on you for making him a third wheel again?" Beomgyu asked with a smile on his lips while laying down on the bed and staring at the ceiling, fixing his glasses casually.
"Nah, he's good." Yeonjun didn't really care, he knew that Kai would have felt the same with them in a room together.
Yeonjun was unpacking his backpack, searching for his pajamas under the pile of clothes he took with him, a ridiculous amount of clothes for a three day trip.
"Do you want to keep listening to music even in your sleep?" Beomgyu asked again and looked over to Yeonjun, his smile not leaving his face. Yeonjun still had his earphones on and didn't bother to take them off. It was easier that way.
He picked up his pajamas and turned his head to Beomgyu, looking at him apologetically with a small smile. Did it bother Beomgyu?
"Don't worry, I can still hear you."
"Must be very meaningful to you. The music and stuff." Beomgyu watched Yeonjun walking over to the bathroom but before he could go in and lock the door, Yeonjun turned around to Beomgyu and widened his smile a little.
"Something like that."
Yeonjun disappeared behind the bathroom door and left Beomgyu alone for a while.
He wondered if Yeonjun would use his shampoo. Would he like the scent? Beomgyu chose something that reminded him of Yeonjun. Something that made his tummy tickle for no reason. Something that lifted his mood.
Beomgyu felt as if he would explode the minute Yeonjun would come out of the bathroom. The feeling clenched his heart, was tightly wrapped around his body and would slowly count down the seconds until it would snap out of its position. He didn't know what would happen then, he never felt something like this before. It felt like he was dying and he was secretly hoping for Yeonjun to come back to ease the tension in his chest. He grabbed his lobster plushie and pressed it tightly against his chest, trying to push away the feeling creeping in his heart.
The bathroom door opened and a freshly made Yeonjun slipped through the door with a bright smile on his face. He raised his hands to show off his clean self and looked at Beomgyu with a proud expression.
"Peachy Jun is ready to fall asleep." He stated cutely and brought out a laugh from Beomgyu.
"You used my shampoo!"
Yeonjun walked over to the bed and hopped onto it next to Beomgyu, who was still facing the ceiling, the lobster plush back in its place next to his pillow. His hair was still a little wet from the shower and it smelled faintly of peach. The scent was fresh and sweet, just as Yeonjun.
"I certainly do smell like a peach now." Yeonjun's cheeks hurt from all the smiling but he couldn't help himself.
"I know, I can smell it from here." Beomgyu replied. He moved closer to Yeonjun and took in the scent of his wet hair from up close. The scent was more intense now and realizing how close he was to Yeonjun's face, Beomgyu's cheek got filled with warmth very quickly. Yeonjun would notice his blushing right away.
Beomgyu moved away from Yeonjun's hair and fell on his back again, scratching his right cheek so that Yeonjun couldn't see the redness in his face.
"I didn't know you were a pajama kinda guy." Beomgyu quickly changed the topic. Yeonjun looked down on himself and fell on his back with the same movement, both of them looking at the ceiling now, their hands just inches apart.
