ANGELA
••••••••••••••

Later that night it's only mason and I. Angelo left a few minutes after Theo. And neither of them bothered to come back. Not that I blamed them.

I understand why they're upset with me but I'm doing what's best for me.

Surely they can't hold this against me forever.

Mason looks upset aswell but because of the circumstances, he can't really get up and just leave.

I sigh before taking Mason's hand in mine and slightly squeezing it. "I'm sorry." I apologized softly. "I'm doing what's best for me, okay? You know how much I've always wanted my freedom and finally being able to have that makes me happy."

He frowned and looked down. "We only wanted to protect you, Angela. We didn't mean for you to feel so trapped with us. So I guess I understand why you wouldn't want to stay." He squeezes my hand back and offers me a small smile.

"Are you happy though where you are right now? Tell me about it. Tell me everything, I promise not to share it with the others." He says and I feel my chest tighten.

"Okay I'll tell you but I want to know what you guys were up to the past year." He nods before jumping right into it.

He tells me everything. He tells me how the relationship between my brothers and my father isn't the same anymore. They find it hard to be able to forgive him for what he did. Mason felt the most betrayed because our father shared everything with him.

He tells me about the mafia and how everything has been going for the past year.

I ask him if he has a girlfriend aswell and he changes the subject, making me a bit suspicious. Out of all my brothers, Mason is the only one who could really keep a secret. He is the most loyal and trustworthy out of all of us, which makes me admire him in some ways.

"Okay I think I covered everything. Now tell me about you. Where have you been all this time? Are you somewhere safe? Do you have enough food or supplies?" He questions me.

"Ofcourse I have enough food and other necessities." I roll my eyes. " The place I'm staying at is completely safe. And even if it wasn't, I would be able to protect myself just fine." I give him a pointed look.

Now he rolls his eyes. "Yeah yeah. I know you can defend yourself now. Did you get training from someone?"

"Yes." I said reluctantly. I don't wat to tell Mason about the organization just yet. I wouldn't want him to track me back to the warehouse in New York.

"Who?" I shook my head and he sighed. "Just tell me their name. I can't do much with just a name."

I huff before saying, "Owen."

Mason makes a face before muttering under his breath, "It just had to be a guy."

After about two more hours of Mason questioning me, we sat in a comfortable silence.

"So. . . Have you heard anything about Eli-" I cut Mason off by standing up and clearing my throat.

"I'm a bit tired. I think I'm going to go check in at my hotel for the night." I say and Mason frowns.

"Why don't you stay at the mansion for the night or for however long you're staying?" He asks and I shake my head.

"No. I would prefer staying in a hotel. I'll come visit tomorrow morning okay?" I say and he nods slowly.
