Angela
"Angela?"
Familiar eyes meet mine. I've definitely seen him before. I just can't remember where. . .
When he takes a step towards me, Dante quickly makes a move in front of me. The man's eyes widen before he immediately raises his hands in surrender.
"Wait. I'm not going to hurt her." He says, glancing over at me over Dante's shoulder before looking back at him. "Or you."
Dante scoffs at that before taking out his gun and aiming it at him. "I can't say I'll do the same."
The man takes two slow steps back, his hands still up. The other man, who's broken nose is now bleeding, sends a murderous glare towards Dante.
The shorter one, looks over at me again, "Angela? Do you remember me? It's Marco." He points to himself before pointing towards the bigger guy. "And that's my older brother Martin."
My brows furrow before a vague memory resurfaces...
"Who are you, and where am I?" I wanted to say with more confidence, but my voice came out hoarse and shaky.
"I'm Marco." The short guy with light blonde hair says before pointing towards the taller, more muscular guy. "This is my older brother, Martin."
Martin rolled his eyes and crosses his arms over his chest. He leans back against the wall, not saying a word, his eyes trained on me intently, as if he's trying to figure me out or something.
"Don't mind him, he's always like that." Marco dismisses. "And to answer your other question, you're in Russia, Moscow."
My eyes widen when the sudden memory resurfaces, "Marco...yes, you were there when Nikolai kidnapped me."
He nods with a sad smile. "Yeah, I'm sorry we couldn't help you back then."
"Why didn't you?" Dante snaps at him.
Martin tries to take a step forward, but Marco holds up his hand. "He would've killed us. Our uncle doesn't really care if you're family or not, he doesn't like traitors."
"Your uncle?" I asked a bit shocked. "Nicolai is your uncle?"
He nods before sighing. "Unfortunately, yes. We've been trying to find a way out of here but he's paying for our mother's treatment, and... " He glances over at his brother, sighing deeply. "We don't have a dime to our name." He says this almost reluctantly, like he's embarrassed.
I look over at Martin and he's glaring at the ground, not saying a word.
"Don't you get paid for doing his dirty work?" Dante asks a bit confused.
Now Martin is the one to scoff. Marco shoots him a look before answering Dante. "No. He provides the best treatment for our mother, and we work for him. We have a place to live, eat and roam around without worry, in return we owe him our loyalty."
"I'm sorry." I offer. I can't imagine what that must be like. Being forced into all of this only to save their mother.
Marco smiles, "It's okay, don't worry. I'm just glad you remember us. We used to all hang out when we were kids, but you lost your memories not too long after."
"You used to hang out?" Dante raises his brow at me, "Does Elijah know about this?"
Marco chuckles softly, "When I say we all used to hang out, I mean all of us. There was a time when our uncle Niko and our mother used to do business with Angela and Elijah's father. We used to-"
