How?Wasn't there some way?Couldn't it just be the two of you, and nobody else in this world?Life was so unfair......Still, he smiled so sweetly that you didn't suspect a thing. Eating sandwiches together on the rooftop, you'd steal the occasional glance over at your new boyfriend Geto, with his pale milk chocolate eyes and long black hair, and that gentle expression he always carried. It made you wonder just how you got so lucky.You felt like you were a plain girl. Someone so unimpressive that the idea of a boy falling in your lap like this was completely unlikely. And yet...here you were. Together.Clearly too, he loved you.Geto truly did. From the very first moment you were placed in class together, up until now where you were so close you basically fed each other lunch, and had no qualms about sharing.Plus there were the kisses. He'd steal one whenever he could, adoring the softness of your skin, the light vanilla scent that you carried, the cute blushes you'd often show. How couldn't he love someone like you?By all means...by all means, you were perfect.He was the lucky one.It was just the world around you both that was unfortunately so flawed and rotten. Some fools saw fit to actually approach you now and then, but a quick snip snip or wave of something sharp made for the perfect deterrent. They'd keep their distance after that, and you'd be none the wiser, it was just a pity that these pests didn't stop coming.And the king of the rats? Well, the Student Council President of course. You were a member, and Geto knew why the guy was always giving you so much work that you'd have to stay back late. He wanted to get you alone, eh? Well that was very sly of him, but Geto was far more of a fox. He was easily able to wangle his way in there and make sure you never worked without him for 'support'.Good thing you didn't get tired of him. Then again, why would you? Geto felt like he could breathe down your neck at all hours and you wouldn't protest even a little. Because what purer sign of true love was there than that?
"Yum~ that was really good." you announced suddenly, placing the lid back on your empty bento box and looking over at him. Geto was pretty much finished too, but he noticed with a flush that you still had a little extra on your face. Easy enough not letting that go to waste, he just had to lean in and lick.Well, you went an even deeper rose then, and it left him giggling."Ahaha~...oh Senpai, you're so adorable. Mm..." There was a slight moan as he tugged his bottom lip beneath his teeth, and his eyes took on a quality that you had been starting to notice more and more often lately. They'd become...weirdly clouded, as if his pupils had vanished (though granted they were tiny anyway). When he got like this he'd always come out with things that made you a little uncomfortable...though you wouldn't admit that to him."...And you're all mine. I can't think of anything that would make me happier."All his...It wasn't like you didn't want to be. It was just...this side of him was so strange.As the breeze rustled by and he petted your hair with the liveliness returning to his gaze, you silently hoped you wouldn't see it again. Unfortunately for you both, neither of these wishes could come true.As you became more and more caught up with council work, Geto became more and more possessive in his actions. That really was the word for it too. 'Possessive'.He took far more excuses to hang out with you, even to do the most mundane things like buying milk at the convenience store. Anytime you started talking about any other males, regardless of what he thought of them, he'd veer the topic so far off track you'd think he was trying to crash it. Of course, there was the student council business too..."...So you...have extra work again today?""I'm sorry, Geto. I know you don't want me to push myself but the President said he really needs this-"

"Hah..." he barely hid his grimace, setting his half-empty bento box down on the rooftop with a little too much force. The chopsticks clattered, "-Have you noticed it, Senpai? How does he keep doing this?"You looked over at Geto with some hesitation. He was getting this way again... "...Doing what?""You know~" Geto stared right at you, some cloud cover coming right at that moment to block out the sun and make everything dim. Those eyes of his almost seemed to glow behind his ruffled hair."I know you know, so let's not lie about it, okay?"That seemed like your cue. This was just getting way too awkward for your liking, and clearly Geto needed his space for a while."That's...I don't know what you're talking about-" you abruptly sealed up your lunch and stood, only for Geto to shoot up in your way before you could go anywhere. That faux innocence on his face was almost so convincing."You're not leaving already, are you Senpai? Why would you be in such a hurry? The bell doesn't go off for another fifteen minutes..."Swallowing thickly, you just kept your cool and shook your head."Sorry but I...I want to go back inside now. I'm done eating...I'll just start studying early."He paused with wide eyes, then let a small chuckle escape his lips. "Oh Senpai...there you go again, working yourself to the bone...""It'll give me an edge won't it?" you made to move past, but his hand caught your shoulder and held you by him. Before you could jerk away or let out any protests, his lips were up at your ear, whispering in that manner that had once been so seductive, but now made your skin crawl:"You aren't lying to me...are you~?"Gulping again, you remained solid and still until he pulled back and let go of you. His head tilted and he giggled in a saccharine fashion."No no, I don't think Senpai would ever do that to me. But just in case..."One slender finger tapped his cheek, and he grinned."I might take a few measures of my own..."

Things went all too quiet for a while. His words echoed in your head even as you avoided spending any time with him, and as he seemed to vanish from sight too. Even in classes he wouldn't show up, which led you to worry that he must be plotting something.Until one day, when he sprang up out of nowhere like a Jack in the Box."Senpai~!!""Shit-!!" you cursed unintentionally, which wasn't really like you, but he had just given you such a fright that you'd jumped and scattered all your papers. Trust him to sneak up behind your chair like that...Turning around in it, you glowered up at him while he leaned over you. "Geto..."His mischievous face twisted into a sorrowful pout, framed against the rest of the council classroom."I was feeling bad about what happened last time. I know we've been apart for a while but...well I missed you so much and I wanted to make it up to you..."Make it up to you? Well...you did appreciate the flowers he was handing over, the gorgeous lily petals looking especially beautiful in the evening light from the window. And you had to acknowledge that he was coming back to make things better again.But you weren't sure."I don't know Geto...I'm already kind of bogged down with work right now and a lot of stuff has been happening..."Geto noticed the strain in your brow, but he just shook his head and set the flowers down beside you, allowing his chest to brush against the back of your head as he did so."That's okay Senpai, I won't push you. Shall I make you some tea?""Tea sounds nice, thank you." you decided to be courteous and agree to that much. Geto beamed so sweetly that you felt some guilt, and you watched him go over to the kettle in the room before turning to look down at all your papers again. You spent some time shuffling and fixing them, wondering what to do.Sure, maybe you could take Geto back...but was that really the best choice here? Maybe it was better to move on.Ahh...your head was such a mess. For now it would be better to just drink some tea and calm down...
"Here you go~" Geto came around right on cue, setting the cup down gently beside you. Thanking him with a grateful nod, you picked it up while he pulled his own seat over and watched you take a sip.Geto couldn't help it. The corner of his lip twitched up the moment that you did, and you looked over with some confusion when you noticed."...What are you...smirking about?""Hehe...nothing, nothing~" he closed his eyes cutely and tilted his head to the side. "I'm just so glad we can be together again."Hold your horses Geto...You didn't respond but you certainly didn't agree either. Time would tell.Time would...tell...?Suddenly, a weird sensation overcame your body. The desk you were sitting at started to tilt in an impossible direction, your cheeks and forehead tensing up. A hot flush spread and the cup slipped from your fingers but you never heard it smash, and felt no scald. You only collapsed, limply, drifting into darkness against the edge of the table.Geto remained seated there until you were completely out of it, and only then did he sigh."...Haa...sorry Senpai but...you gave me no choice..."Leaning closer, his breath tickled your ear as he spoke, his hand drifting up to stroke some strands of your soft hair."If I let things go on like this I might have lost you forever. His lips met your temple this time, and he pulled back just enough to see your sleeping face, but remained close enough that there was barely any space between you. You'd hit a rocky patch, granted, but any loving relationship had its rough spots at times.
