Chapter 20: Atlas at Risk

(Ruby's POV)

I was rushing to the infirmary. I tried to avoid the soldiers as much as possible, but sometimes I had to fight. I was wasting a lot of time, and Emerald was probably in danger! 

I finally arrived in front of the doors to the infirmary, which were damaged. The sheet metal on both doors was bent and there was a fairly deep gash in each door. I enter the room and find the infirmary completely empty, Emerald's bed unmade, the monitor beeping continuously in the absence of a pulse, and the IV hanging in the air, liquid dripping onto the floor.

"Emerald? Where are you?" I wondered.

(Dragon's POV)

As agreed, my team and I split up. Me and Resare went to look for Jaune and the others, and Night went to look for Cinder. I hoped Emerald and the others were okay. Resare and I were running through the halls of the academy.

"Are they going to be passed or?" I asked Resare.

"They shouldn't be too far away anymore." She replied. As I rounded a bend in the hallway, I bumped into someone and fell to the ground. I straightened my head and ran into Jaune, followed by Nora and Ren.

"There you are! We've been looking for you!" I exclaimed as I stood up.

"What are you doing here?" Ren asks us.

"Night is busy looking for Cinder." Resare replied.

"That crazy lady's here?!" Nora exclaims.

"Yeah, and that's not a good sign." I replied.

"To each his own: We are looking for Oscar!" Jaune told us.

"He can't be far away." Resare replied. I looked behind Jaune, Ren and Nora, and saw Oscar, the Relic on his belt.

"Look! There he is!" I exclaimed. Everyone turned toward Oscar. Nora ran to him.

"Oscar! You're here!" She exclaimed. We approached Oscar

"NO!" We heard screaming. Looking in the direction of the scream, we saw... Oscar?! He rushed at the other one and punched him in the jaw, sending him to the ground. The other Oscar changed his appearance. An appearance that I knew well. Too well, even.

"You..." I growled, as the relic rolled towards us.

"This crazy girl showed up and attacked me. But she looked like someone else." Oscar told us as he picked up the Relic.

"Trivia Vanille... or should I say... Neopolitan." Resare growled as she clenched her fists.

"You know her?" Oscar exclaimed.

"We know her very well, even." I replied. 

"Take the Relic to safety, we'll take care of her." Resare said to the others.

"Are you sure? You better watch out." Ren asks us. I grabbed the handle of my gun, still in its holster.

"She's the one who should watch out her ass." I replied, pulling my Uzi from its holster before pointing it at Neo. I was so pissed you could almost see smoke coming out of my nose holes. The other four left, leaving us alone with Neo, face to face.

"Take the lead." I said to Resare.

"That's exactly the plan." She replied before activating her Semblance, deactivating Neo's.

(In Fria's room)

Winter and Penny were preparing Fria for the transfer of her power. Winter had placed her in one of the two boxes in the room.
