Being the total video game fanatic you are, you pushed and worked as much as possible to be in the beta testing group for the new massively multiplayer online game, Sword Art Online.

When you received the package from Argus containing the nerve gear and a copy of the game, you immediately opened it and set everything up to play. You were absolutely ecstatic that you were selected by the company to test it.

Placing the nerve gear over your head, you turned it on and immersed yourself in the game.

You set up your avatar, to which you chose to stick mainly to your general physique, as well as many of your facial features. Finally deciding upon having slightly wavy hair instead of your usually straight hair, you looked at your basic avatar before moving onto clothing.

You didn't really want to wear a skirt, even if you were a girl, so you went with a pair of black leggings. Also deciding on a black top with a light armor chestplate, and a pair of over-the-knee black boots, you walked around a bit to test it. You decided finally on a dark (F/C) cloak over the top of it all, preferring anonymity in games such as this.

You finally picked your weapon. Considering you would probably be able to pick up another weapon within time, you went with the interesting weapon to find in a game such as this- a bow and quiver. It had a smooth black handle, and the arrows in the quiver gleamed a white light. Smiling, you confirmed all of your choices and your vision went white.

Blinking a couple of times, you realized that you spawned in what you guessed was the "Town of Beginnings." After all, there was a sign.

Learning how to use your limbs, you looked around the marketplace for a bit before heading into the fields outside of the town. There weren't that many people in town anyways.

Excitement rising in your chest once more, you equipped yourself with your new bow and quiver and shot an arrow into the distance. As the arrow left your sight, a new one was replaced in your quiver.

"That's going to come in handy," you thought to yourself. "I guess I should start working on aim, as well as sniping."

Walking over to a lone tree in the field, you climbed it and removed another arrow and placed it in the appropriate position for firing. As you pulled back on the bow string, waiting for the warthog in the field to turn so you could get a clear shot, you noticed the bow and arrow began to glow a brighter white color. You released the arrow at the moment the warthog turned, and it was immediately killed as it shattered into pieces and the statistics of your kill popped up in a box in front of your face.

"50 Cor for one small kill?!?!" you mentally questioned, putting your bow on your back and leaning back against a branch in the tree. It wouldn't be long before you could afford food, new weapons, and special items at this rate.

"I was going to kill it, but it looks like you beat me to it."

Surprised to hear a voice, you looked down at the ground below to see a man with black hair looking up at you.

"I didn't see you there," you flatly stated. You never really liked conversing with other players.

"I didn't see you either until you fired that arrow," he said. "I'm Kirito."

"(Y/N)," you stated once more after a period of thought. He gave a slightly blank look at your short answer.

You looked past him in the field to see two more warthogs spawn.

"Hey, look," you said, nodding your hooded head to the two warthogs, "You can have them."

He nodded, raised his sword, and killed them when it began to glow. For a swordsman, he wasn't too bad. He nodded to you once more, and returned to the path.

You hopped down from the tree, walked across the field, into the forest, and climbed the first tree you came to for a good scope. This was going to be quite a game.
