"Do you see anyone?" you slightly yelled ahead to Klein as you both weaved your way through the still crowded town center to find his friends. He was holding your hand, which you disapproved of, but you decided to allow it since it was so crowded. The last thing you wanted was to lose your only friend to a crowd.

"No, not yet," he yelled in response over his shoulder. "WAIT A MINUTE! I DO SEE SOMEONE I KNOW!"

He took off through the crowd dragging you behind him. You were trying to apologize to all of the people you were bumping into, but you couldn't tell everyone sorry since you were moving so quickly.

Klein then stopped in front of a couple of men and they exchanged a couple of handshakes and high fives. It was nice to see that they weren't too shaken. Some of the people in the square were simply sitting on the ground in shock of the fact they were trapped. Quite frankly, you were in shock, but you knew succumbing to shock wouldn't get you out of here.

"So," one of his friends began while smiling at you, "aren't you going to introduce us to your girl, Klein?"

Klein placed his arm around your shoulder.

"This is (Y/N)," he said with a triumphant grin. You shooed his hand away in irritation and shot him a quick glare. "She was in the beta, so she knows a couple of things. She's agreed to help us."

"How on earth they aren't completely shaken is beyond me," you thought.

His friend who asked the question smiled down at you again. You really hated being shorter than all of the men and being the only girl. It made you feel, well, small.

"I'm Issin, one of Klein's friends."

You nodded and smiled.

"It's nice to meet you."

"Klein, I found some others and they're a few feet away. We can meet with them and all travel to the next town together," Issin said.

Klein entered a serious mode, and nodded rigidly.

"I think that would be best."

As you followed Klein and Issin to his other friends, you wondered how Klein's personality could change so quickly, and you found it quite odd.

Klein then turned to you.

"Do you have any friends here, (Y/N)?"

You shook your head no. You never told any of your real life friends that you played video games, never wanting them to poke fun at you for it.

Klein nodded.

"Let's get going then. I don't want to be out in the fields when night falls."

With Klein leading the group, you all walked out of the town to the fields.

You walked next to Klein in silence holding your bow, not feeling that comfortable around any of the other men.

No one else was talking either. They were probably trying to comprehend the recent events just like you were.

"You don't talk much, do you (Y/N)," Klein said with a sideways glance down to you. You looked at him and shrugged.

"I just don't have anything to say."

He slightly laughed.

You looked into the bushes and saw a pair of red eyes. In fear, you immediately stopped Klein with your arm, pulled out an arrow, and slowly moved forward.

The wolf jumped out onto you, and you stabbed it with your arrow. You didn't have enough reaction time to get out of the way, so the wolf slammed your body onto the ground.

You heard yelling behind you and some feet scuffling as you slapped the wolf with your free arm in an attempt to reach another arrow. Successfully reaching another one, you rammed it into its side. The wolf's health meter dipped into the red from the second hit as it howled in pain.

As it opened it's mouth to bite you, it exploded into millions of shards. As the shards disappeared, you saw Klein standing over you with wide eyes and his sword pointed down to where the deceased wolf was previously, meaning that he must have been the one to kill it.

He blinked and returned his sword to its sheath, then gave you a hand up. You lightly took his hand and pulled yourself up to stand in front of him.

"Thanks," you said while brushing yourself off.

"No problem," he replied.

You laughed a little.

"I guess arrows aren't the best for short range combat," you said. "I'll pick up a sword in the next town."

Looking back to his friends, they were all dumbfounded. You turned back to Klein.

"We should keep moving."
