You lost control of your mind, and just kissed back. It was unlike anything you've ever experienced.
Then, after a couple of seconds, you regained common sense, and turned a fiery red color as you realized that you were literally kissing Klein in the middle of town where everyone could see.
Not wanting it to end, you quickly but reluctantly pulled away, trying not to make a spectacle of yourself. Opening your eyes, he was giving you a wide-eyed look and he had a small smirk on his face. Still unsure of yourself, you simply stared right back. You felt your face heating up again.
"Do you, uh, want to go get dinner?" he quietly said. You nodded. He stood and offered you his hand, which you gingerly took as you stood from the bench.
With you still blushing, you both walked hand in hand to the restaurant.
Going in and sitting down, you were both silent for a moment before Klein spoke up.
"You're as red as a tomato," he said with a laugh.
"Well, you were the one who kissed me, so I think I have enough reason to be blushing."
He leaned back a little, still smiling.
"You're not a bad kisser, (Y/N)."
"Hey! Don't just kiss me for the fun of it," you rebutted. "Start doing that, and you and I are going to have problems."
"...So you're saying I can kiss you more?"
You crossed your arms and narrowed your eyes.
"Shut up," you awkwardly said.
He laughed as your food was brought to the table.
You thought about the feelings you had when Issin first told you about Klein liking you, and when Klein told you about what he thought of you, and, most of all, how you felt when you both kissed.
Summing everything together, you must have liked him back- and you were coming to terms with accepting this. But, was it something that was okay to do? Fall in love with a man you only knew virtually? After all, this was your third day of knowing Klein. For all you knew, he could be married and cheating on his wife! Maybe he was trying to get close to you to squeeze information out of you!
You looked over to see him playing absently with a lettuce leaf on his sandwich. Okay, maybe that last hypothesis was a bit of a stretch.
You folded your hands on the edge of the table and looked up to Klein.
"So," you began, "what was your life like back in the real world? You know, before we were trapped and everything."
"Well, I worked as an entry-level employee for a corporation as my first and only job right out of college, which I graduated from last year. It wasn't much of a job, but it was a job I could move up in- although after all of this, I doubt I even have it anymore. I spent a lot of my time playing video games though in my apartment- and that's how I ended up here." he explained. "What about you?"
You took a bite of your sandwich. If he graduated last year, that must mean he's two years older than you.
"I was a law student at the University of Tokyo," you said. "I was in my junior year, and things were going well. I enjoyed playing video games, and played often, but I didn't think that playing video games as a law student was really appropriate, so I remained quiet about it. The only person who knew was my dorm roommate."
"Woah," he said. "So you were like an undercover video game addict using law school as a cover!"
You laughed.
"It was something like that."
