"Y/L wake up!" Nicole shouts. "I'm coming" I say with a raspy voice. I have never been a morning person. I'm the type who falls asleep anywhere. It's actually kind of funny. For someone who likes to sleep, I go to bed very late. Part of my thinks it's because i'm scared for the day to come to an end. Scared of the new unpredictable day to come. Or maybe that's just my anxiety talking but who knows.
"I feel like I always got to drag you out of bed" says Nicole with an annoyed voice. "I'm sorry, you know how I like my sleep time" I say with a yawn.
I start to get ready for my day. I put on my outfit for the day. I go ahead and decide to go with something preppy since I major in English Literature, and because it's the first day.
(A/N- Sorry if this isn't your style, go ahead and in-vision something more to your liking!)
"Have you eaten?" I ask Nicole. "Not yet!" she yells from the bathroom. "Okay how is it you started getting ready first, and somehow I beat you?" I ask teasingly. "Oh shut it" she scoffs. "Want me to fix something up for you?" I ask her. "Yes please" she says. I go ahead and make something simple in our little kitchen area. I decide to cut up some fruit. I pair it up with some yogurt and chia seeds.
"You're the best" Nicole says as I hand her the bowl. I give her a smile as we begin to eat our breakfast. When eat in silence, both of us still waking up. As we finish I go and gather my stuff as we begin to head out the door into the elevator.
"What time will you be home?" I ask Nicole. She hums in thought. "I dunno, text you?" she says as we begin to walk to our classes. "You better! Have a good first day" I shout as I walk away. I begin to head to the english department not being able to stop fidgeting.
As I walk in I notice some familiar faces. Not people I was particularly friends with, but people who I'd taken classes with before. I go ahead and sit near the end of the classroom. I've always admired people who sat in the front, so confident. I fidget around as I wait for class to start.
"Hey" says Ethan with a smile. For some reason it slipped my mind he is majoring in the English as well. "Hi" I say with a smile. "Do you mind if I sit?" he asks cautiously. "Please" I say. "How are you?" he asks shyly as he takes a seat. "I'm doing good Ethan, really good." I say sincerely. "I'm glad, that's all I've ever wanted for you" he says with a smile. "Same here" I tell him shyly.
"Are we ever going to talk about it?" he asks. I'm surprised with his bluntness. "I don't think there is anything left to say E" I tell him confused. "I think there is Y/N" he says offended. "Look Ethan, I made things very clear when we were in California. I don't know how to make it any more clearer" I say with a low voice, scared he'll get offended. "Y/N I mi-" Ethan begins to say but quickly gets interrupted as our Professor walks in.
"Good morning everyone, as you all know I'm Professor Green. It's very nice to see some familiar faces from the year before. It also great to see some new faces. As you all know I'm not very harsh with my students, as long as everyone gets their work done. That's all I ask for!" She says and gets a couple of giggles out of her students. "Alright? then let's get started!" she says. She then quickly turns around when she hears the classroom door open loudly. It gets everyone's attention and we all look to the back of the classroom.
