"Do you want a cig?" Lizzie asks as she walks out. "Oh no thanks I don't smoke." I say giving her a soft smile as we both lean over the rail, outlooking the city view. "Do you want talk about it?" she asks as she lights up her cigarette, taking a drag. "No." I sigh. "Fair enough." she says as she blows out. I smile to myself when I notice she respects my boundaries.

I turn my head and look over at her. A smile grows on my face as I begin to observe her face. She turns to look back and gives me the prettiest smile.

"Did you know that it's impossible to hum while holding your nose?" I randomly say. She begins to laugh. "OMG Y/N you are so random!" she says as she giggles. "It's true Lizzie!" I say. She looks at me as she laughs and rolls her eyes playfully. I go to get closer to her. "Try it!" I say excitingly. "I am not doing that you weirdo." she scoffs. I reach over to hold her nose. "Now hum." She goes on to try and hum and isn't able to do so. "I told you!" I say with a smirk and we both share a laugh.

"Thank you." I say softly while looking into her eyes. "What for?" she asks as she furrows her eyebrows. "Doesn't matter." I say softly while smiling. She huffs as she takes another drag. "Let's go back inside, it's cold, I don't want you getting sick." I say as I hold out my hand. She puts out her cigarette, then takes my hand.

As Lizzie and I walk back inside we hear Intro by The XX begin to play. "This is such a good song." I say as we walk in. "It's my playlist, guess I have taste." Lizzie says as she shrugs and earns a giggle out of me.

"What was that about?" Nicole asks as she walks closer to me. "Did you guys ki-". "Shhh" I hush Nicole before she can finish. "Don't." I say to Nicole seriously. She takes the hint and goes back to her conversation with Mia.

Lizzie introduces us to some of her other friends, who are quite nice. Boyd and Ava.

We all head over to take a seat and Lizzie sits on my right side, Boyd sits next her. While Nicole sits to my left.  All of us waiting for dinner to be ready.

"More wine?" Boyd asks as he notices I've finished off my first glass. "Yes please!" I tell him. "So do you guys go to NYU as well? I ask both Boyd and Ava. "Oh no we don't actually." says Ava. "Then how do you all know each other?" I ask them all. "Ava and I are childhood friends." says Mia. "Me and Lizzie worked together" says Boyd. I hum in response. Not wanting to take the conversation further.

Mia and Lizzie go ahead and serve us all the food they made. Lizzie cooked us all some roast chicken, with pasta and a salad. And of course, olive oil and bread, together, in one food.

Lizzie goes ahead and looks over at me and waits for my reaction. I got to take a bite and raise both my eyebrows. "Liz this is fucking good" I say with an almost whiny voice. "I'm glad you liked it." she says with a big smile that makes her eyes crinkle. "How could I not? Didn't know you had it in you." I tease. She scoffs. "Wow Y/N thanks for the backhanded compliment." she says with a giggle. "Not but for real you're an amazing cook." I say and she whispers a thank you.

Boyd and Ava continue the conversation by asking us what we major in.  They ask about our classes and professors. Of where we grew up and so on. Ava and Mia tell us stories of their childhood. Lizzie and Mia then tell us how they met their freshman/ sophomore year of college when the became roommates.

"I think the wine is getting to me." Lizzie whispers in my ear and the action gives me goosebumps. I look over at her and notice her cheeks are red. "I can tell." I say as I pull a strand of hair off her face. "You look pret-". "More wine?" Boyd interrupts as I begin to speak.

"Please." I say with a smile. He goes off to pour me some more wine. As he gets back to his seat I notice he begins to rub Lizzie's thigh.

"Well that was unexpected." I think to myself. My mind begins to race. "Of course a girl like Lizzie would already have a boyfriend. Why didn't I think to ask her before?". I'm so caught up in my head that I don't even notice the voice calling my name.
