I stand in baggage claim. Scanning the room, waiting for him to come out.
To my surprise he agreed to celebrate the new year with me.
He is the reason why we didn't spend Christmas together. I don't blame him, or hold any grudges. In many ways I understand.
His mental breakdowns take a troll on the family, but all we can do is be there for him.
"Ash!" I yell as I finally spot him, walking towards my way.
"Y/N!" He yells back as he runs up to hug me, lifting me up in the air. "Hey sis." He whispers as he squeezes me tight, letting me back down.
"How are you?" I ask with nothing but honesty.
"I think I'm better." Asher responds a bit anxious.
I give him a smile and guide us to the cab, that I had for us waiting. I sense his anxiety as we put his bags in the trunk.
"Hey you're okay." I say squeezing his hand. He gives me a nod as we enter the cab.
"So what do you want to do while you're here?" I question him, my attention towards him.
"Nothing in particular." Ash responds while looking out the window, observing the city building's. He guides his attention to me as he speaks again. "I just want to spend time with you." I give him a smile. "Me too kid, me too"
The rest of the ride is spent in comfortable silence.
Luckily over the break, me and Nicole had the chance to move into our new apartment. The best part was that it was located right next to Lizzie's apartment building. It's cool because I could see her from my window. Not in a creepy way.
Now we actually have a kitchen, our own bathroom's, and a living area. Benefits of officially being a senior. Two more semesters to go!
The thought of it is kinda scary. What will life be after college?
"Dude this place is nice!" Ash speaks, breaking me out of my thoughts.
I give him a smile. "That's what I said!"
Nicole walks out of her room, squealing as she goes and hugs Asher. Bringing him into laughter.
"Hey Ash!" Nicole says with a bright smile.
"N, how you been?" Asher says as they pull away from the hug.
"So good! How ya like the place?" Nicole asks Asher.
"I was just telling Y/N, that it's nice." Ash says again scanning the room. Nicole gives him a smile.
"Well make yourself at home." Nicole states.
"Thank you." Ash nods with a smile.
"Do you want me to show you around campus?" I break their interaction.
"Uh i'm a little beat up. I think I just want to go to bed."
"Are you sure?" I can't help but sound concerned.
"Yes tomorrow is New Years Eve and I want to be at 100% for that." Ash yawns.
"Okay, go rest on the couch. It's a pull out." I motion him and I go grab some pillows and blankets from my room. I see him leaning on the side of my doorway. I walk towards him.
"Here, get some rest kid." I say while getting on my tippy toes to kiss his forehead.
"You know, I'm 12 minutes older than you." He says sarcastically.
His comment makes me chuckle. "Go."

"Y/N!" Flo says as she jumps in my arms.
