CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
First Sign of War

It was the month of December. And the feeling of excitement, sugar rush, the sky looking brighter than usual, people cheery more than usual, and the season of happiness was supposed to be visible even on the first day. But for the first time in many decades, Ashgrim was gloomy. And the day Abourne stayed with her father and reading the tabloid in the morning at breakfast for a small gesture of gratitude towards her father had quickly shifted into a nightmare.

Abourne Blaque folded the tabloid with such anger that it had even made her father look up to her from the tabloid. Then he sighed and said, "The only day you look at the tabloid."

ASHGRIM's NONEXISTENT STOCK MARKET FALLS?

Written by Honea Janine

Ashgrim is known (although really the only thing we, the people of Ashgrim, knows) for its free will and over exceeding beauty of human nature: legal. The very thing illegal, murder, which is enough to turn heads around is covered up very well. Ashgrim's wild assassin running around has still not been caught despite the heavy restrictions and security increase. The Valkyrie, heavy hands on deck, quick to a solution, and the only one qualified to lead an army seems to be having trouble in getting a control on the killer on the loose. On the other hand, Ashgrim's greatest erasure of human traces, currency, seems to be awfully visible now. Investments and natural resources have always been in a constant run and number dealt with the greatest financers and educators of Ashgrim. But instead of a non existing currency city having its invisible stock market hit a skyrocket, its goal seems to be heading downtown! We are heading for hell.

Despite the very obvious social ladder of Ashgrim that depicts an unseen currency; inheritance and rank, two of the biggest family dynasties have come out of their shell to do this city a favor. The Ashdowns are throwing their biggest party yet within a week. Save the date! Everyone in city is invited, and it will be the only party anyone can be invited to for a very long time. The isolation and security increase have brought us all to a state of anxiety and the queasiness of non humanly interaction. The only faces we see is the Valkyrie's very intimidating watchmen. A big thanks from these worn out writing hand to the Ashdowns for bringing all of Ashgrim together to a night of elegance and romance. Another party on the list, however, not on everyone's list considering its extremely strict attendance list, the Blaques will be making their first public appearance after years of social cutoff. Aleister Blaque have signed up his daughter, Abourne Blaque, to be in this year's list of debutantes. Shocking news to all, we have thought his only daughter was his greatest gem to be never given away! But this delights us, we will finally see two of the only Blaque blood lineage in a room together, and most importantly, Aleister Blaque making an appearance in society again. We all sincerely continue to pray for his prolonged health. He will need to keep an eye out for his social butterfly daughter in the future!

Two of the most awaited events of Ashgrim happens in just a week away which brings us to the biggest mystery and this mystery leads us to the most curious question, ARE WE REALLY TRYING THIS HARD TO HIDE RECENT EVENTS? I mean, come on, do they think the people of Ashgrim will be satisfied? We have seen things meant to be unseen. Parties, we've seen everyday. Will we forget about the terrifying watchmen roaming around the streets? Will we forget about Ashgrim's assassin? Will we forget the bided law of unauthorized gatherings punishment to be imprisonment? Will we forget about the mysterious outburst of energy? Oceanna Murray Vile, we knew you were vile. We just didn't think you could be so vile you bring us back to history. To the days before our great ancestors kept us in power, safety, and change. You have really done a number.
