CHAPTER FIVE
The Unveiling

Zakeen Nadir switched side to side from one bed to another every few minutes. He had been sleepless but refused to step down from taking care of Abourne Blaque. But that had changed in the span of a few hours, whether Abourne's sickness had become contagious or there was some kind of virus the two were in contact with, there was another sick bed added.

"Maybe Asdgin Desciy is Ashgrim's old name?" Abourne attempted to help. "Don't stress yourself," Zakeen warned. She looked at him with pleading eyes and said, "Zak please, everyone back together is something I have been waiting for for so long. Give me something, anything, that'll make it stop."

"You overestimate me, Bo," He smiled at Abourne and walked over to Inez's sickbed. There slept Inez Vimgard, and her unconsciousness made the room much quieter. Everyone thought about it, that she should sleep more. Inez Vimgard's anatomy was talking, and a lot of talking. But she was an irregular conversationalist, she made jokes and witty remarks, and she gossiped a lot.

There had been an underlying cause as to why there was sickness spreading, and it worried them a lot. Some even strayed away from entering the room at all. They had come back two days later to meet again. That was when they discovered the number of patients had doubled. They were more eager than ever to figure things out. Figure something out, even the littlest answer. Cassidy had taken the opportunity to get to know everyone; to put them under a scope and figure them out even if that meant pulling them out piece to piece. The group completed each other. Each one is a peculiar individual.

Chase Creed, a gruesome cold-blood killer. There was still so much to know, yet he was certainly the most transparent of all. He knew how to assert his dominance in certain tasks, one being collecting information and leading their so-called missions when no one volunteered. He was especially skilled in his display of emotion, he knew what to say and whether to frown or laugh or smile or shoot a deadly look.

Lace Creed, the total opposite of her brother, Chase. She was far from assertive, and she only talked when necessary. She was intelligent, the most intelligent in the room, and even when she knew the answer to something, she would never let it be known. She much preferred to speak out when they required her input, which was frequent considering they were not as smart compared to Lace. She withheld different kinds of information, she was of history, a cluster of knowledge, and sized of a portion of Cassidy's growing curiosity. She never ran away from learning.

Maeve Pierce, the same fiery intimidation in her outer appearance. But she was far from Chase's personality. She did not speak as much as Chase, but something tells Cassidy that that was not the case. It seemed like something had stopped Maeve from pushing out her true shell, and it most likely had something to do with Chase. Perhaps she had not wanted to get involved with him anymore, but circumstances brought them to see each other again. They shared the same responsibility, and neither of the two was willing to give it up just in spite of past history. Maeve was calculating and always had the interest of outweighing benefits in mind. She knew how to assert dominance as well, but she rarely did so, only doing it when she really needed to.

Abourne Blaque, she came from a prestigious family, of great importance to Ashgrim. Although they were never associated with the Vile family or within the unacknowledged politics of the city. They built their own hierarchy and made it clear to the world that they deserved respect and that they were not a family to be messed with. She was a martyr, the face of the group, the one everyone put their full pride on. She hadn't had anything technical to offer, but she was their hope and pride, and that says everything that needed to be said.
