Jimin's pov

Yoongi kissed Jimin.

And Jimin's stomach had been filled with butterflies and emotions, it was beautiful, everything he had ever wished for. Everything he had been waiting for.

He should have been up in the 9th cloud by now because it was Yoongi the one that kissed him, it was him that had started it. It had to mean he wanted something more...

But it didn't make Jimin happy, not the way he expected it to. Something about the way Yoongi had kissed him, something about the way he had looked in his eyes, it was off.

Jimin couldn't put a name to the feeling.

Maybe it was his anxieties playing up, but something told him it wasn't that.

He kept his insecurities to himself for the rest of the date , enjoying the secret, shy glances Yoongi would steal from once in a while, aware of the ever so present tension.

Maybe they were both too aware that they had shared a long kiss, but none of them mentioned it afterward.

That kiss changed everything, but nothing at the same time. It was quite unusual, the way they danced around each other, looked at each other but didn't mention a single thing about the possibility of actually getting in a relationship.

Jimin thought that he should wait. He had to wait for Yoongi to make that first step, and maybe, eventually, it would come, if not for the worst would happen, and Yoongi would eventually admit it was a mistake.

Jimin had a hard time seeing through Yoongi's emotions, but even when he did, he looked rather remorseful than happy and hopeful, so Jimin just started avoiding his eyes.

And even when he left Yoongi off somewhere around his neighborhood, he didn't ask a thing. He smiled, shaking off the uncertain feelings and saying his goodbyes.

Without knowing it was the last time.

Without knowing it was his last chance.

Jimin had never been the type to dwell on things without taking action. He liked to be pragmatic if possible to avoid wasting his limited time.

So he avoided thinking about the situation with Yoongi. He soothed himself with the thought that there was enough time for everything. Maybe the right answer to whatever was going on between them was taking things slow.

In the meantime, he decided to fulfill his best-friend duty and meet Taehyung as promised for a coffee and give him a short update on the situation.

He took his time putting just the right amount of make-up on his face, considering it's been a long time since he had been out and about. He didn't even think for a second about the case, it was his day off, he wanted to keep it that way, at least this time but...

He couldn't help it. He could feel it glaring at his back. The murder board, sitting gracefully in his office, alluring him to take a look.

Just another look.

What if he would find a new clue that he had overseen previously?

After all, he was a detective, he was observant and he had worked on his skills for years. And he was right, this time again. Even though sometimes, it was better if he didn't.
