Yoongi's pov
There was just the slightest amount of sorrow in Romeo's eyes, and it wasn't hard for Yoongi to read it. He's been knowing Romeo since forever, and no matter how supportive he was, sometimes, the scowl on his face was just a facade Yoongi easily could unveil if he wanted. "Is this really what you wish for, Yoongi?" His friend asked for further confirmation, calculating a few possibilities after Yoongi presented his plan to him.
If Yoongi was to surrender, there were high chances Romeo could no longer keep in touch with him.
"I think it's our best option," Yoongi said with certaintinity, there was no space left for fear left in his gaze.
"You know we had a couple of other alternatives, right? As I said countless times, I will help Yoongi. As long as I can, I will. This should be the last resort."
"Romeo, you are like a brother to me, and you have helped me without receiving anything in exchange for a lifetime. I don't even know how to reward you."
"There is no need to, Yoongi, I never did it because I wanted something in return. I did it because you are my friend, and because I have the resources." Romeo reassured, eyes warm, looking at his best friend with sympathy.
Yoongi didn't like that.
They have been friends since they were young, they both started from zero, yet here he was, dependent on his best friend's tactics and money. He was thankful, but it wasn't it.
"We are outnumbered, Romeo. Even if we keep going on like this, we can just stall, because eventually, they are going to catch me. I'm tired to risk lives because of this stupid plan I agreed to months back. I have to find a way out myself, this is my war, not yours. I'll just need your help with a couple of other things and then... it's gonna be alright. I promise." Yoongi promised, trying to hide the jitter in his voice.
"What about Jungkook and Taehyung? Going to prison will definitely ruin their lives..."
"Yes, that would be the case if I haven't already prepared for the worst. I'll take it all upon myself. I'll make sure they will get the shortest sentence after I will admit to the crimes. I don't have anything to lose for now, but they definitely do. They will return to their normal lives sooner than you think." He winked, ignoring the hollow feeling in his upper stomach.
What if Yoongi will rot in prison? He would do it for his brother.
"Just promise me to take care of them when they return, since I won't be here."
Romeo nodded quickly, taking a step closer to Yoongi. "I will do all I can to make sure they will live eventless, happy lives, Yoongi."
"Thank you." Yoongi smiled kindly, the promise bringing back memories. Memories from the old good times when they were young, powerful, and thought that nothing could destroy them.
"Always for a brother." Romeo eventually hugged Yoongi. It felt like it was the last time they did it. It fact, who knew, it could have been, right?
After they parted, Romeo returned to Yoongi with a paper and a couple of things printed on it. He was back to business mode. Yoongi sighed and waited. "I have five potential hideouts. You can choose where to hide the chip and no one has to know its location. Not even me."
Yoongi shook his head then. "I will have you come with me, Romeo."
"But-"
Yoongi patted him on the back. "In case anything happens to me, and you need to protect Taehyung, Jungkook or even yourself, use it, do you hear me?"
