Jimin's pov

*four days after Jimin realized Taehyung was missing*

Jimin picked up his ringing phone and answered it. "Detective Park speaking."

"A dead body in Gangnam was discovered. It doesn't seem related to our case." Namjoon informed him and that was all the information Jimin needed.

„I'm on my way."

Jimin put down the phone and got out of his office as soon as he ended the call. He informed the other officers that he was going to be out on the field and took Hoseok with him. They got into the car and Jimin drove silently until they arrived at the location Namjoon texted them.

Jimin was glad Hoseok was with him right now and not Namjoon or somebody else. He liked Namjoon, he was the best partner Jimin ever had, but after the past few days, he needed someone who was silent and let him be. Hoseok was a nice co-worker and he was smart enough to shut up in serious situations, whereas Namjoon liked to joke around and ask questions all the time.

Jimin was stressed. Taehyung hasn't answered his phone for four days. Jimin was convinced that something had happened to his best friend and he was worried sick over him. He even drove out to Taehyung's grandparents, but he wasn't there either. His grandma knew nothing and Jimin didn't push her with questions, so as not to alarm and worry her.

"It seems that the body has been here for a couple of days. I'd say three or four, but I'll know for sure after my examination in the lab." Hoseok inspected the body calmly as usual, taking a close look.

"It's different. It isn't the same as the other victims." Jimin stated, looking at the body's eviscerated stomach. "This one was killed with anger, hatred. Or he was a psychopath. Either way I feel like we are dealing with a different case."

"But the room looks neat, whoever killed him definitely did some cleaning up afterwards." Namjoon spoke as he looked around with a magnifying glass. "I can't see any fingerprints...and it smells like ammonia. It's exactly what you need to get rid of fingerprints."

„Do you think the cases are connected?" Hoseok asked him and Namjoon.

"Let me think for a second." Jimin said, while also pointing to one of the officers taking photos to change the angle. "At first glance, they appear to be disconnected, but I'm starting to consider them somehow linked to each other. The cases are bizarre, even more so than our usual murder cases."

Namjoon turned to Jimin. "Detective Park, you have to consider the facts and context too. Not only what you want them to be."

"Don't worry, Detective Kim. I will make a murder board at home and put down all the hard facts. They won't be slipping through my fingers." Jimin assured.

"If you say so..."

"Namjoon..." Jimin made a puppy face and approached his co-worker. "Could you help me with something later?"

"Sure, just let us finish here."

"Thanks! You're the best!" Jimin thanked Namjoon in a sweet voice.

He returned his attention back to the crime and gestured for Hoseok to move aside and let him analyze the body himself.

Hoseok was the one who determined the cause of death, but Jimin and Namjoon had to find the person responsible for it and the reason behind it.

Jimin noted that the victim didn't have any personal documents on him. So, either he didn't bring any or the killer removed them.
