Jimin's pov
Fire.
Fire was running through Jimin's veins. As endless as emotions were flooding his heart and mind all at once, he used all the power he could muster to push them aside as far as possible, it was not the time to be feeling right now, he would save that for later. Much later.
He was drowning in a discomforting uncertainty, yet he didn't want to get out of it right now. Perhaps, deep down, he knew that getting to understand his own feelings would bring him nothing good at this moment.
Feeling uncanny was nothing new to Jimin, but now his life as a whole, felt like a bottomless abyss with no direction, no specific purpose and no way out to be seen at all. He got trapped in a maze of thoughts, assumptions, and risks he didn't intend to stop.
Worst-case scenario, Jimin might have to face death, yet he wasn't scared of death, not of his own anyway. But he wasn't alone anymore, he was surrounded by people he wanted to keep alive and his anxiety peaked at the mere thought of seeing the ones he held dear to his heart suffer.
Jimin had to survive for them. He had to fight alongside them, he needed to keep on moving forward and defeat the undefeatable.
Namjoon, Inspector Kim, Officer Jeong-in, Hoseok, Taehyung, Jungkook, and... Yoongi. Jimin would protect them all and would let himself be protected by them. He would keep moving forward and help his team and friends.
His mind was made up as he knew exactly what he had to do – Yet, why was his decision hurting him?
With each confident step he took forward, a new thorn was piercing his heart, a tightness that was only getting worse as he was looking at Yoongi, who was walking ahead of him, hurriedly but with a stern purpose.
Maybe he was sad because he was getting out of the comfortable, safe bubble he had created with Yoongi today. This bubble made him feel emotions that were not supposed to be there and gave him a chance to taste a fruit that he had denied himself for the longest time. The bubble was in itself a fragile thing though and it vanished as quickly as it came to be.
But this one moment gave Jimin the chance to breathe in deeply, hold the air for what felt like an eternity in his lungs and while breathing out he came back to the chaotical world he was living in.
At first, Jimin thought it was maybe just unresolved tension, pent-up frustration, pining, anger, and desire, all bottled up, ready to spill at any given moment. And, the bottle did spill, but Jimin didn't get rid of a handful of emotions, as they were still there, ever so present.
Replaced with something else? Maybe. Gone? Not a chance.
Not to dwell even more on the subject, Jimin decided to put an end to this endless train of thoughts by adding a positive note to the situation: he might have it bad for Yoongi, it might be the greatest mistake he had ever done, but for now, it gave him a purpose.
He had a reason to be strong, move forward with the speed of light, move past the barriers he built around himself, and most importantly, surprise the enemy.
Whether he was ready or not to move past whatever had just happened, the clock was ticking and he didn't have much time left.
There was no time for regrets.
The moment they reached the elevator, his arm lunged forward and caught Yoongi's wrist slightly, making him jolt in surprise. But when their eyes met, Jimin realized, Yoongi's eyes were kind to him, he looked desperate, yet kind to Jimin.
