THE GIRL IN
HIS MIND❝and then I met you,
and slowly,
but all at once,
my whole world began to change.❞

"yes, hello?!" I finally answered the phone; it was a call from my mum. I was frustrated that she kept on calling me ever since I came back from the State. "what do you want mum?" I opened the drawer and pulled out an Iron-man boxer for me to wear.
"I need to talk to you about something—"
"well, I'm on the phone now," after I wore my boxer, I released the towel that covered half of my body before I picked up a baby blue sweater. "you know that I have no time to go there," I told her.
I could imagine her pouting her lips, "jungkook, I miss you. you didn't even visit us after you arrived," she scolded me with her usual not so angry tone. even though I was mad at her, I couldn't help but to smile, I missed her too.
"fine, I'll be there in a bit."
I went outside after I wore my ripped jeans. that night felt different; it was more chilly than usual. I continued to walk, passing the neighbourhood's playground. how long did I left the area? why does it feel like I was walking on a foreign pathway?
I still found it funny that our apartment was near to my parents' house. I could just walk over there in a couple of minutes. once I arrived, I suddenly felt disgusted when I saw a familiar style of heels on the floor, near to the door.
I had no other chance, I couldn't turn around because my mum saw me already through the window. she opened the door before I could even knock. "jungkook!" she exclaimed excitedly and then, she embraced me into a warm hug.
"I miss you," I whispered and hugged her tighter. but then, my smile faded when I lifted my head and the girl I least wanted to see was there, standing with her revealing dress. she looked at me with a weak smile, trying to look nice.
"jungkook," my mum broke away the hug and dragged me inside. "chohee waited for you since yesterday." I nodded my head as if I understood her, yes, I was looking at her—those memories then suddenly played in my head.
the words she spoke to me made me frown; it wasn't that I hadn't move on but the hypocrite girl gave me nightmares and I couldn't forget all of it. looking at her made me realise that I was stupid.
"what is it that you wanted to tell me, mum?"
she smiled wholeheartedly to me while holding both of my hands, "come sit down first, we're going to discuss about your relationship with chohee—"
"mum, we broke up already. there's nothing to discuss," I told her gently, her smile was too pure that I couldn't dare to hurt her. of course, she didn't know the story but I hoped that she could understand me.
I pulled her into another hug as I apologised to her that I couldn't give her what she wanted. "but jungkook—" I hugged her tighter, hoping that she understand that I didn't want an arrange marriage at a young age.
I walked passed the playground again; it took me minutes to realise that someone was there at the swings. I lifted my head and looked at the night sky before a sigh escaped from my lips. I looked at the person at the bench and decided to approach whoever the person was.
