Diedre closed his eyes as he swung his chair back and forth and sighed loudly. Percy, sitting beside him, gave him a questioning look which Diedre ignored.
See, he is now enrolled in Merriweather College Prep. Apparently, this "progressive" school in downtown Manhattan, which means they sit on beanbag chairs instead of at desks, they don't get grades, and the teachers wear jeans and rock concert T-shirts to work.
Which is cool with him. Who wouldn't want to be in such a 'modern' school?
The only problem he had was that he knew the future of this world.
And the future would suck if he continues living in bliss.

It has been months since Diedre and Percy discovered Camp Half-Blood and they also found the di Angelo siblings who have been living with him for the past few months.
As soon as he came back from Camp Half-Blood, he found his mother waiting to talk with him. As soon as they were done with their 'talk', the di Angelo siblings were allowed to live with him.
This brings him to his current predicament, Nico and Percy have a staring competition for the seat beside him which just made Diedre change his seat to sit beside Bianca.
"How was school, Bianca?" Diedre asked, drawing his eyes away from the fight brewing between Percy and Nico.
"It was great! We learned so many new things and the world had changed so much from the time we were there," she said.
Oh, Diedre forgot to mention, after dragging both Nico and Bianca out of the Lotus Casino during their first quest and now enrolled with Percy and Diedre in the same school in different classes.
Another new addition to their little group was Tyson, the mighty Cyclops. Currently, trying to be smaller as the school bully Sloan tried to bother him.
The mocking words were getting on Diedre's nerves as he tightly held his shirt to control his anger. Tyson's a Cyclops, he can defend himself, Diedre tried to reason with a very unreasonable mind, but as soon as Sloan tried to talk shit about Nico and Bianca, Diedre took his coke can in his hands, shook it as violently as he could and opened it right in Sloan's face.
A blanket of silence covered the tables surrounding theirs as he stormed off, leaving behind a wet, soggy and fizzy Sloan.
Diedre forgot to mention the last and final thing. He loved this school because nobody would punish him for this.

The Science exam was the worst possible thing he ever had to do for science. As a science lover, he took personal offence to it.
Mrs Tesla had asked the class to mix chemicals until it resulted in an explosion. Percy and Tyson had teamed up and had completed the test within thirty seconds while Diedre took a bit more time and passed the test with a lot of reluctance.
During the social studies exam, Diedre found Sloan waving around a picture of Annabeth that he took from Percy. Diedre glared at Sloan and took the picture away from him. After the picture was taken from Sloan, he moved his target to Diedre who just sighed tiredly and ignored him.
Diedre just wished that the day would just end and they moved on to the more interesting sequence of events.

The gym uniform at Meriwether is sky blue shorts and tie-dyed T-shirts. Fortunately, we did most of our athletic stuff inside, so we didn't have to jog through Tribeca looking like a bunch of boot-camp hippie children.
