Diedre dreams of the night he let them go vividly.

He remembers the heartbroken looks on their faces, he remembers the tears dropping from his own face, he remembers the feel of their hugs as they turned towards the forest as his last words to them that he was not the form that could provide them comfort.

He remembers as he returned to the cabin, he tells Michael that he didn't feel well enough. That if anybody spoke to him or looked at him too closely, tears would fly out, sobs would break out and he'd cry for weeks.

He remembers Michael's arms winding around him as he leans a little into Michael who just sat silently, ushering out anybody who came in.

And he fell in love with a colour-blue-in this case, as if he fell under a spell and he couldn't get away from it.

If they were stronger, would Diedre have not let them go, Nico thought and Bianca grasped his hands tight as they ran deeper.

Would have Dee not made that pained face if he was stronger?

He didn't want to come to these technicalities but his mind wandered. It wandered as the dark swallowed them and suddenly instead of the forests, they were in the Underworld.

The place where Dee had declared that he would protect them even if he was endangered and he kept his promise but did they?

As they landed with a grand thump on the floor, a voice rang out, "Diedre Hayes finally sends you here but in bad shape. Tssk. At least he kept his promise of keeping you two alive."

In bad shape? All they had was some cuts but that was due to them running in the forest. Dee had never made them feel unwanted or unsafe like Hades had or abandoned them.

Before he could say anything, Bianca's voice rang out instead, "These are due to the forests. We were in perfect condition before."

There was a hidden anger that Bianca never held. It didn't seem prominent but Nico knew his sister well enough.

Then Nico's mind reeled back to Hades' words. "What do you mean Dee sent us to you?" He demanded.

"You didn't know," Hades started languidly, "wrote me a letter and all. Asked me to take you in and train you."

Train them? But Dee was already training them. He didn't need extra training from a father who forgot them in a hotel for sixty years!

Bianca probably tried to voice the same thoughts but Hades continued, "Diedre Hayes can't train you two. He can barely control his own power. Only I can train you well enough. To harness your power."

"Then train us. Make us stronger. Make us more powerful." Nico demanded.

"That is the hunger I was looking for," Hades smirked.

And the same thought ran through both the siblings' heads. Make them so powerful that they would never be the weak link for Dee. Because Dee had already fought for them and now it was time they return this favour.

Will didn't know what to think. Everything changed in just one night.

Diedre cried all night and even though he tried to hide it in the morning, the tear tracts, his red eyes and his sniffles showed it. For the sake of letting him still maintain his dignity, they all ignored it and treated Diedre as they do, albeit a bit more gently.

Nico and Bianca were no were to be found in the morning and Will understood why Diedre cried.

Even though both the Di Angelo siblings were a surprise addition to his life, they came as a package deal with Diedre he supposed, so he accepted.
