Devin missed school for the next few days. Chelsea did also. According to Ranea, it turned out that they both got in trouble. I texted Devin to check on him but got no response. It bothered me how mad he was. I understood that he defended me. He needed to know that Chelsea was the main problem. Sure, I had a little responsibility in this. I was not taking full blame though. Devin made me feel that I should. After telling Ranea what he said, she told me not worry. It was hard, and I couldn't help it.
Dr. Reigns did a practice on a Saturday. She canceled the one on Friday, so we had to make it up today. A lot of people weren't too happy about cause it was early. We were currently on a 10 minute break. I found a corner to practice my lines. Dr. Reigns wanted me to get more into my character. So I was trying rehearse before our break was over.
This was the only thing that was distracting from me Devin. He still hadn't talked to me since that day. I hadn't even seen him since then. He had to be back at school. He just avoided me. I wanted to call him, so we can talk cause I'll admit that I do miss him. He had been good to me, and I can't thank him enough for it. I was not a person that everyone accepted easily, so to have him was great. I felt like I blew it.
"Alright. Do the scene again," Dr. Reigns called us back on stage.
After rehearsal, I had to go my usual jog a day earlier. Even though, Devin wasn't with me, it was still okay. I can clear my head after what went on. I couldn't talk to Ranea because I didn't want to continue bothering her with my issues. My dad had his own thing going on, and he would be pissed if he found I was talking to a guy who not only was I interested in, but took my first kiss. So I had no one else.
I can deal with this on my own. I was not the type to sit around having someone mad at me. I would have to eventually talk to Devin and explain to him why I couldn't bring me and Chelsea's beef into it.
My jog lasted about four hours. I didn't get home until late evening. My dad was cooking dinner when I walked in.
"Miesha!" Daddy called as I put my workout bag in my closet.
I came downstairs where my dad was in the kitchen making something on the stove.
"Yes daddy," I answered.
"What took so long? You were out longer than I expected," he questioned.
"I had to make up for lost time and plus I felt like I ate my limit of junk food and had to burn the extra calories. But I think I'm getting them back cause you're cooking."
I lied so easily cause my dad can sense things like I could. So I needed a valid excuse for why I went jogging a day earlier.
He looked at me to see if I was lying or not.
"Well I'm making salmon, potatoes, and greens," he said.
Relief washed over me that he didn't question me further.
"Great," I said excitedly. I walked over to the refrigerator.
"I want us to talk too." I paused with my hand on the jug of juice.
"Did I do something?" I asked taking precaution.
I hope the school didn't call him about the incident with Chelsea and Devin. It's not like I did anything wrong. Hopefully I can explain that.
"It's about Jasmine," he answered.
This lady who had my dad's attention. I wondered what he's going to say. Maybe that they broke up or something. It wouldn't matter unless he liked her. But that wasn't it. Daddy doesn't seem upset or sad about it. It must be something else.
