I continued to look at him, but his eyes still read that there was no excitement in seeing me. Then after a moment, he redirected his gaze to Ranea. His face broke out into a grin. Her eyes widened, but then she returned the smile. She glanced at me and quickly looked away. She bit into her newly painted nails as if she was nervous. I kept my gaze on her to see what her reactions were about. She avoided me. Then, to make matters worse. Naiya gasped beside me. She boldly publicized her attraction to Devin. Her eyes wandered over Devin's appearance. Ranea nudged her as a warning. Apparently, she forgot that she had a boyfriend. Naiya showed no shame in what she was doing.
She stepped closer to Devin. "Hello there."
"Hey," he replied.
"I'm Naiya."
"Okay."
"Do you know Ranea?"
"We all go to school together." Devin motioned between Ranea, Tony, me, and himself.
Though, Devin answered her nonchalantly. Naiya attempted to flirt with him. She batted her eyelashes and used her sweet voice. Her behavior disgusted me. It reminded of how Melina acted with Antonio. She tried too hard to get Devin's attention. Ranea scowled which let me know that she also disapproved. I watched Devin look back and forward at us. He was pleased with the scene unfolding. It was like he knew what troubled his presence was causing.
Tony slapped Devin on the back. He was also enjoying how us girls were reacting.
"Aren't you the man?"
"Oh yeah. He is a man for sure." Naiya put a hand on his chest. "A rock solid man."
I silently breathed in and out. A lot of frustration built up inside me with everything going on and witnessing this added to it. I wanted to keep my mouth shut. She was Ranea's cousin. I did feel like exploding on her. It was hard to observe a girl disrespect her boyfriend. It was even harder to see that same girl touching on the guy I really liked. If this was what jealousy felt like, I hated it. I pictured myself yanking Naiya's hand off Devin's chest and screaming at her to keep her hands to herself. It hurt because Naiya and I were supposed to be cool. Sure she didn't know about Devin and I. Ranea barely knew. However, her actions left me with an unsettling feeling about her. I questioned her character and what kind of person she was.
"Do you have a girlfriend or anything?" Naiya squeezed his abs.
Ranea grimaced. She opened her mouth and shut it when a voice sounded behind us.
"Considering that your ass have a boyfriend. I don't think that's any of your business now is it?"
I whipped around so fast that I almost lost my balance.
Standing behind us was a furious Richard. His gaze was set on her hand which was still touching his chest.
"Richard what the hell are you doing in here?" She asked. Her mood had gone bad again.
"I came in here to see what was taking so long, and I come in here seeing you acting like this."
"Acting like what?" She asked.
"Like you don't have a boyfriend already."
"I am well aware of that Richard."
"Then why do you have your hand all up on another dude's chest. You don't have no business talking to another guy."
"Richard mind your own business. Why are you worrying about me for? Let me be."
"Okay since you want to be a little slut, don't come crying to me when your ass get dumped."
