***Ramya's POV.***

"Hi." I say.

"Congratulations. At least one of us got to marry someone they love." He says and I cringe.

"Love?" I ask.

"Sorry. I know I am a little weird." He says, looking a little lost.

"Your family is here too." I ask to change the topic.

"Yes." He says.

"Why weren't you all here for the wedding?" I ask.

"Well, my parents had one more wedding to attend, and we had meetings and stuff." He says, "Also, it was better I wasn't here."

"Sameer, why don't we forget what happened in the past and try again? We are going to be cousins soon." I say with a smile, and he cringes.

"I know. But please don't rub salt on my fresh wound for now." He says with a grim smile.

"What about friends, if not cousins?" I ask.

"I can try that. But I will be a distant one if you don't mind. At least for a year, I guess." He says with a smile.

"Sure." I say.

"Ramya." I hear Reyansh's voice and look behind Sameer to see him.

"Reyansh. Sameer met my husband, Reyansh. And Reyansh he is Sameer Verma. Mr. Verma's nephew." I say introducing them to each other.

"Congratulations." Sameer says.

"Thank you." Reyansh says, shaking hands with him, then turns to me, "Ramya, we need to get going."

"Sure." I say, "See you around, Sameer."

Reyansh puts his arms around my shoulder, and we walk away together. When I look back, I still see a smile on Sameer's face. I hope he moves on and finds someone else better than me. Because that will ease Mum's life so much more.

"Is he the one who fell for you at first sight?" Reyansh asks.

"Yes." I say.

"What did he see?" He asks, and I feel offended.

"Hey! I am cute and beautiful. Obviously, some people have good eyes, unlike others. By the way, here. Your specs." I say.

"Thank you. But you look beautiful when I don't wear it." He says.

"Way to keep your wife happy. You have the worst timing to tease me, Reyansh." I say with a pout.

"Come on. Like you have the best timing." He says with a smile.

"I should have just married Sameer instead. At least he loves me." I say.

"Do you want an annulment or divorce?" He asks and I stop walking.

"Don't joke about that." I say when he turns to look at me.

"Sorry. Truce?" He asks, giving me his hand.

"Only if you stop your teasing for today. You are a very harsh teaser, Reyansh." I say.

"Well, I will keep that in mind only if you don't despair about getting married to me in the future." He says.

"Fine. Truce." I say putting my hand in his.

The wedding reception was nice and very much fun. Nani stayed only for half an hour but showered me with a new car and investment share in our new start-up. Mum rolled her eyes, as she knew very well Nani was showing off to her. Reyansh denied the investment, but Nani insisted on it.
