***Reyansh's POV.***
I come out of the car only to stop short when I see Ramya.
"What are you doing here?" She asks.
"I can ask you the same question. Didn't I tell you not to involve yourself any further?" He asks.
"Well, what about you? Aren't you getting involved?" She asks.
"I should have known you were lying." I say.
"And I should have known... Nah! I wouldn't have known anything." She says with a sigh, "Nevertheless, Reyansh, why didn't you let me join you? We are both after the same thing."
"Me meeting her won't affect anyone, but it is different for you. You are going to be her niece soon and if what we are suspecting is not true, it can affect your relationship with her." I say.
"I don't care. If it is false, I will apologize. But if it is true, I have to make her understand that she doesn't pull the same stunt at my Mum's wedding. She has been waiting for this day for a very long time and I don't want anyone to threaten her happiness." She says, and I understand her concerns.
"Now what do we do?" I ask.
"To do exactly what we came to do here." She says with determination.
"Fine. Let's get this over with for once and for all." I say and take her hand in mine as we go in.
The maid opens the door and asks us to be seated while she informs Mrs. Verma about our arrival. Ramya looks jittery but resolved while I am trying to think hard on how to approach this topic without offending her. But I didn't have to think much because as soon as Geeta aunty arrives, Ramya opens her mouth.
"I want to ask if you tried to sabotage my wedding or not?" Ramya asks.
"Our wedding." I say.
"Yes." Geeta aunty says with a straight face, without blinking.
"Well, that was too easy." Ramya says with a frown.
"And why did you do that?" I ask.
"Because if Ramya got married, Bhai Sahab would get a chance to marry her mother. To marry at this age is blemish for our family. I mean, how would my kids get married if he does?" She asks like she is reading a speech or something.
Odd.
"So you mean to say you stopped trying after we got married just like that?" Ramya asks and I know even she is getting suspicious of instant acceptance of her crimes.
"Well, there was no point in trying anymore." She says.
"Why?" I ask.
"Well... because... because... I am not interested." She says.
"Or are you waiting for Mum and Mr.Verma's wedding day?" Ramya asks.
"Maybe." She says, looking anywhere but at us.
"You are clearly lying, Geeta aunty. It shows you weren't the one who did this. So it must be someone you are trying to hide from us. Someone from your family. Who is it? Tell us." Ramya says, and she hits the right spot because aunty gets scared.
"Ramya, calm down." I say and hold her hand in mine.
"But she is lying." She says.
"A woman lies for two people the most, either for her husband or for her children." I say and Aunty looks up in surprise at the mention of children.
