Ivory walked up to Zosia and noticed the double curb charm bracelet on her wrist.
"I thought you lost it."
They gave each other a quick hug and pulled away.
"I found it last night while going through my closet."
"That's good. I have to go to the library to get some history reference later. You up for that?"
"Yeah."
"Ambrose is having a game next week. We'd head over to his college."
"We know you miss him."
"No, he just left two days back. We made a bet before he left. I lost and had to get him a 20mm iced Cuban chain...such a bad boy wanna be and unlike Mason, he gets me nothing in return. At least I understand to an extent when he complains about Qiana."
"I can only imagine." she laughed
Zosia was the first of four kids in her family.
"But not all firstborns are a mess, I mean look at me."
"To you that is... I can ask your siblings and I'm sure they can write an essay about the things they hate about you."
"You're just over exaggerating, like you can do that for Ambrose."
Ivory stopped in her tracks and answered "Three years ago if you can remember correctly, I wrote a two thousand words essay about the things I absolutely hate about Ambrose and gave my parents to read."
"I believe I've gotten the point."
They resumed their walk

Mason finished the laps left for him to cover according to coach's instructions and went for his water bottle on the side lines. Coach Barry went on to tell them about their opponents and what he expected of them. The seniors were excitedly counting the number of matches left before their graduation.
"Get your head in the game." He concluded and walked away leaving the boys to retire to the locker room and freshen up.
"Hey Fabian." Mason had been wrestling in his head on how to confront Fabian on his sudden interests in Ivory.
"What's going on man?" Fabian asked and ran a hand through his hair.
"Not sure. What was going on yesterday ... With Ivory?"
"I wanted to hang out, that's all." Fabian played it cool
"All of a sudden?"
"Okay you got me there." he raised his hands to surrender " I like her."
Jamie walked past them but not so fast so he picked up on what Fabian said.
"Have you told her?"
"Not yet but I will. I already talked to her brother, he said I can go for it."
"You asked Ambrose?" Mason asked in disbelief "Yeah, I have a cousin who's his teammate."
"I don't want you messing her up. Guys like you are known for going for the likes of miss prim and proper like Skyler and her minions."
"I know, it's not bad to try a little change."
"I don't want you doing try outs with her."
"Ambrose warned me about that already. I know and I understand your friendship but once I become her boyfriend Mason, you won't be the only one protecting her and you might just need to back off a little."
