Ivory closed her biology note, it was the easiest subject to ace for her but she couldn't understand it not when she kept imaging Skyler and Mason together.

She huffed and abandoned her books.

She wasn't hungry not even when her mum forced her to eat mushroom pepper steak rice for skipping dinner the previous night all in the name of studying for exams.

She wanted to clear her mind and what's a better way than jogging.

She put on her UA infinity low sports bra with leggings before finding her running shoes and wrote a note for her mum.

Out to jog I'll be back soon

Ivory ♥️

She went down the stairs and looked around hoping to leave without being seen or risk being stopped and locked up with her books all day when she couldn't even concentrate.

Robert would tell her that there was a treadmill in the house which she could use instead of jogging outside but she only wanted the fresh air and maybe a place to scream too, she wouldn't get those in the house.

After a while of observing, she was convinced that her mum was out and her dad was packing for his trip to south eastern Texas.

Everything was put in place even the weather was cool for her activity.

Once out, she walked for some minutes and started jogging, waving over to the neighbours who greeted and glancing at the sky once in a while.

Her breaths were becoming heavy and she slowed down a bit to think of Mason and their friendship of over ten years.

This is so wrong

She complained inwardly, she wanted to tell him her feelings so badly but she was too scared of the outcome.

"What's wrong?"

She froze

"Mason? What the heck?!" She groaned and punched his arm "No need to get all cranky, so what's wrong?"

"You're appearing out of nowhere and asking me that."

"Okay...I was actually heading to your place,  I guess you wanted to make a public appearance on the street."

"Shut up, aren't you supposed to be studying?"

"Aren't you supposed to be studying too?" She huffed "I asked you first."

She hated this but he smirked at her either way "I don't know." She increased her pace and he called out "Chill Ivory, I wasn't thinking straight."

"Let me guess, Skyler?"

"Far from that, forget it ... You?" She held eye contact with him "I'm under pressure for failing chemistry last time, I needed to cool off."

"You'd do great don't forget you aced your chemistry test. Ice cream always helps." She grinned "It's on you though."

"And the rest of the week too." She went silent, seeing him for the rest of the week could put an F on her papers.

Focus

She reminded herself

"I'm not sure we should meet up this week."

"What did you just say?" They stopped "I said we should..."

"I heard you loud and clear, why?"

Think of something Johnson

"Why?" He repeated

"After exams you guys have a match right? You need to practice, you don't need distractions."

"You've never been a distraction to me." He placed his hands on both her shoulders "I know but you need time and space and I need mine as well."

It was of no use dragging this  with her

"Fine."

"Thank you."

He hummed in response and jogged away leaving her to palm her face.
