Mom calling

[Hey mom]

[Hey honey go home later, we will have a dinner.]

[Yeah sure, I'll be there]

It's such a long day. We have family dinner every Saturday. Since I'm living on my own, we are not seeing each other from time to time. We are both busy, them in our company and me in my art business.

I do love art eversince I'm a kid so yeah I decided to make a business related to it to satisfy my craving.

After my work I eventually go to my condo. I need to get ready, I'm sure I will be in a hotseat.

I just wore a tube dress pared with 3 inches hills since find it comfortable.

"Hey honey we missed you", my mom said as she welcome me.

"Oh come'on mom, parang di tayo nagkita lastweek", I replied. We'll hate to admit but I really miss them. Minsan lang kami magkaroon ng quality time or bonding since we all have business to handle.

"Hey Hanna, honey is that Shey?", I hear my Dad's ask. I think he's in the kitchen preparing our dinner. We'll he's into cooking, that's why.

"Let's go mom, I think the food is ready hmm", I said habang binabaybay namin yung daan papunta sa kitchen. And as expected foods are all served.

"Hey dad, I miss you", I greeted before I hug him.

We are in the middle of our dinner when mom suddenly open up a topic. Oh here we go again.

"Honey do you have a boyfriend now?", mom asked.

I sigh, "of course I don't have one"

"You're not getting younger Shey. Ano pang hinihintay mo? Yung ibang batchmate mo back when you are still studying may mga pamilya na.", aniya.

"Mom... I'm just 23 for pete's sake. Wag mo madaliin, I still don't have plans", I explained.

"Shey you're mom is right. Why don't you get a boyfriend. You're gorgeous, impossible naman sigurong walang nanliligaw right?", sabat ni dad sa usapan.

"But mom, you kn--"

"Anak kahit para sa amin nalang, di man natin minamadali pero tumatanda na kami ng dad mo. There's no exact date but there's possibilities na mawala na den kami soon. We want to secure your future. We want someone to be with you when we are away.", she said. My god eto nanaman tayo. This is the reason why I don't want to attend our family dinner sometimes.

"If ayaw mo magkaroon ng boyfriend, atleast give us a grandchild, right hon.", she added na sinang-ayunan naman ni Dad.

Napatampal nalang ako ng noo.

"It seems like you are indirectly saying that you want a grandchild even there's no father", I said while massaging my temple.

"Yes, you're right", mom said while grinning widely. I look at dad to ask for help but he's smiling widely too as if she's supporting my mom's idea.

"What! Ano yun if makipag one night stand ako, okay lang sainyo?", they both nod.

"Yes of course, there's no problem with that. We are rich, we have money. Kayang kaya natin buhayin yung magiging anak mo kahit walang ama", sabat naman ni Dad.

God, bakit naman ganito. Why did you give me some weird parents. Seriously? Bakit ko ba namention yung one night stand, what an idea psh. So back to what we're talking about. Why are they on rush? I'm just 23. I'm not yet ready to enter a relationship nor a family. I'm focusing on the growth of my business. Hello? Gusto ko pa mag enjoy. What's wrong with being single? Masaya naman akong mag-isa. Kaya kong mabuhay ng mag-isa.
