15.

Caroline grabbed her phone from the side of the table and saw that she had a new text from Cami.

 Cami: it's safe to come back, Finn and Freya are dead.

Caroline: Okay, I'll pack up now. Does Klaus and Hayley know that Hope was with me yet?

Cami: No, and I'm pretty sure Hayley won't be happy with it, so I think you should come with me to tell her and Klaus.

Caroline: Okay, I'll be there soon.

Caroline slipped her phone in her back pocket and picked Hope up from the ground. She walked to the next room and sat Hope down on the ground, she started packing everything together and then look at Hope. She was smiling at Caroline. Caroline smiled back and placed a kiss on her forehead. She finished packing when she heard her phone start ringing. She pulled it out and saw that it was Klaus.

"Hello." She spoke normally into the phone. Caroline continued packing Hope's clothes and things and listened to Klaus talk about killing Finn and Freya. "Klaus, I really-" Then, Hope started laughing in the background.

"Is that Hope?" Klaus asked her and Caroline began to panic.

"Uh, no, I'm walking on the street and I passed a baby. I'm coming soon." Caroline told him and she hung the phone up. She put her hand against her chest and felt her heart pounding. "That was close." She said to Hope and smiled.

"That was weird." Klaus turned around to face Cami. "Sounded like Hope and Caroline started acting weird when I said her name." Klaus said as he put his phone down on the table next to him. Then he looked at Cami weirdly. "You have Hope Cami, where is she?" He asked her. Then she couldn't help but tell him.

"Caroline has her..." She said almost in a whisper.

"Why does she have Hope, Cami?" He asked her coming closer.

"I thought she would be safer. I thought that if you thought she was with me and you thought Caroline was somewhere else, then Finn and Freya couldn't find them..." Klaus knew she was right. He put his hand to her cheek and she closed her eyes. Cami's always had a thing for Klaus, but he's always been in love Caroline, maybe one day he would actually feel something for her. 

"Thank you Cami." He said. Then the door opened and it revealed Hope and Caroline. Klaus pulled his hand away from Cami quickly and walked over to Hope and Caroline. He grabbed Hope and kissed her head and held her in his arms. Then he looked up to Caroline and smiled at her. She smiled back but you could see the pain in her eyes from Klaus touching Cami, but she quickly pushed the feeling back. 

"We need to call Hayley." 

Hayley barged through the door and ran straight to Caroline. She grabbed her by the neck and pushed her against the wall. 

"I hate you Caroline and you think you can just take my baby whenever you like?" 

I was protecting her!" Caroline yelled and twisted Hayley's arm. She pushed her to the ground. "Calm down." Caroline told Hayley but she could see in her eyes that she wasn't going too. 

"I'm going to kill you." Hayley said standing up from the ground coming towards Caroline. Caroline took a deep breath and snapped Hayley's neck. Klaus looked at Caroline. 

"What? She said she was going to kill me." 

Klaus walked Caroline down the hall to her room. They stopped in front of the door and she turned around to face him. 

"Thanks." Caroline said, and turned around to open the door to her room. Klaus grabbed her arm and she turned back around. "What?" 

"The thing with Cami I just-" 

"Don't, please don't." Caroline told him and she looked down at the ground. Klaus grabbed her chin and pulled her face up to look her in the eyes. 

"Caroline, I love you." Caroline only heard him say that two other times and she couldn't help but kiss him. She placed her lips against his and leaned in even more. Klaus smiled at her and continued. After a moment she pulled away. 

"I love you too, Klaus."
