There was a bright purple light glowing up the sky and under it, Lily lay down in the tall green grass asleep. But there was something unusual about the place she was resting in. Something wasn't sitting right with her. But this place felt somehow familiar to her.
Like she'd seen it in her dreams many times before. Was it a recurring dream?
...
"Have you followed my instructions?" David craned his aching neck and snapped his fingers at the two Oculos like they were dumb toddlers. "Hand the note over, lemme see."
He read: Yes, we have an entire unit full of humans, just like you asked, sir.
"Good, perfect, but I have something more important for you to worry about. Something of higher importance." David chuckled, evilly. A light bulb had gone off in his brain.
He knew now where she was. He had located her through many dreams only currently something has made her vulnerable enough to allow him to enter her mind which she had barricaded by various walls. What was causing it to fall apart?
Possibly a loved one? Or friends?
Whatever the reason he didn't care as long as his plans were going the way he wanted them.
The enormous advanced spaceship looked just as intimidating as it looked before. It had large units of different types of alien warriors, scientists, healers, and human prisoners. The leader was the first, a white-eyed Ocuols, only there was confusion about who was in charge between the mad scientist David and the first.
They both agreed on the project of breeding humans and aliens to make a new species. So, you could say they were both in charge.
But there was a slight doubt of trust for both of them. They didn't know if they could trust each other 100%.
David sat in his chair and rubbed his temples and sighed deeply. This work was stressful. Keeping up with aliens, and humans. All the experiments, and documents he had to go through. This is what he signed up for when he decided he'd do something great. Something no other scientist has done. Create an entirely different species.
And think about it. He knew the mixed breeds would have powers just like Lily Valerie. The abilities she doesn't know she quite has yet. She's transformed once before. She could do it again.
...
Trey was up and about earlier than usual. He had a cup of coffee and was now bored and out of ideas for what to do. They had training yesterday. He'd only been here for a week. He was already liking it. He felt less alone here.
His eyes roamed the place. It was a nice two-story house. White on the outside walls, a black roof, and a garage. It was a normal-looking home. It had eight bedrooms, however, like a mansion. It was a big house.
It had a nice kitchen with burners, a sink, a dishwasher, and a small window above the sink that bothered him. It was painted glass with a figure of Jesus on it. He was never religious but his mother was.
"Morning!" Jax greeted taking a seat by him.
"Back at ya," Trey replied, lazily. He was slouching on the furniture and staring blankly at the figure of Jesus on the glass.
"So, what to do..." Jax tapped at the floor with his foot.
"How about video games?" Trey looked up at him with a smirk.
"Oh, let's see if we have 'em!" Jax bounced up onto his feet searching the entire living room and Trey joined the search.
They ended up finding a PlayStation 4 and an Xbox 1.
"Nice taste!" Jax said, holding two ps controllers up.
"Yes, we hit the jackpot!" Trey nodded just excited.
A couple of minutes later...
The two boys were playing a game of COD (call of duty). When Blade walked in and leaned on the arm of the couch.
"What's this...? Blade asked, a confused expression coating his face.
"...no...don't tell me you've never played video games?" Jax gasped.
"V-video....games?"
Jax rolled his eyes and sighed. "Bro, sit down and hold this now."
A couple more minutes later...
Blade had beaten the boys both in streetfighter, and an alien shooting game.
"Come on." Trey fell back into the couch and whined. "This can't be your first time playing a PlayStation, or any video game in your life!"
"Damn, we've got a natural." Jax bragged. "My older brother, how about it." He was saying as his arm fell on Blade's shoulder.
The easy-going mood Blade had going for him shifted immediately. He pushed Jax's arm off and stood up. "I've got business to tend to. No time for goofing around." He gave them both an awkward nod and left.
He went to his room and sat on his bed burying his face in his hands. He huffed out frustrated. He felt a strange feeling. He couldn't stand being related to Jax. He knew his dad Greg Damien. He was a bad man, and for whatever reason, his 'real mom' Karen Damien, chose Jax's dad.
She was a selfish mother. She had three sons with three different dads. And abandoned two of her sons in the process.
Blade had figured Zane and Jax were both his half-brothers. But he never mentioned it or talked about it. The topic was hard to talk about. Because of the situation, and the past.
So, he tried moving on. But sometimes he wondered why his mother never wanted him. Not like his stepmom. The new woman his father got with was a beautiful caring woman. She was always great to his dad and him.
She treated him like her son. But she was cursed with a horrible sickness. It wasn't fair.
She had to be hospitalized. The poor woman Taylor Villain fell into a deep coma and hasn't woken up since.
All his life prepared him to succeed as a CEO of a thriving business. But it wasn't his, it belonged to his dad.
He never wanted that rich life. He didn't ask for any of it. He would give it all up in a heartbeat if he could have his dad back.
His dad Eric Villain was a generous man. Always looking out for other people. He was selfless and kind.
"Don't worry you'll get there....it takes time to be where I am..."
"But...sir Villain...I wanna be a cool scientist..."
"Haha, don't call me sir, I'm your dad...also you do?"
"Yes, I do, dad..."
"Okay, well that takes smarts you understand..."
Memories flood his mind about his dad. A hot tear dribbles off his shadowed face. He bites back any more tears and wipes his dark eyes.
The room is dark. The curtains cover the glass frame and the outside casting darkness on the room. It makes Blade sadder if that is even humanly possible.
There's a space in his heart.
But he remembers the promise and clenches his fists. He has to rid the world of monsters like the Oculos. But then it hits him. Lily is half-Oculos. And she's kind and caring. Could that simply be her human traits?
Or is it possible the Oculos can be good as well?
Sorry, readers!
I didn't show all of the characters in this chapter! Also, it's kinda short. I hope you enjoyed it!
