It was daytime, the sun wrapped around the clear blue and shined upon the green below.

Nine people occupied the cozy home under the skies and the yellow orb that cast heat onto the land, animals, and people below.

6 am. The tan boy stretched out his legs letting out a long yawn and rose off his bed. He picked up his shorts and tucked them away in a drawer. He was then finished in the bathroom, brushing his teeth, fixing his dark mess of hair, and wearing casual clothes.

He was getting used to that. He had grown used to wearing formal clothes constantly since he was to inherit his father's company. Now here he was with shorts and a t-shirt on.

He looked back at his dark eyes, tan skin, and that stupid grin he couldn't wipe off his face. Not since that kiss. His heart was still racing every time he pictured her face.

Lily Valerie was the one.

She saved his life. He hoped he could do the same for her. He wanted to return the favor.

The morning was a joyful one. Last night was the best day of his life.

Blade walked down the stairs slowly leaning on the railing filling up with butterflies at the thought of seeing Lily again. He saw the kitchen and dining area. It was empty.

Nobody was up this early. Except for him and occasionally Lily. Should he wake her? They could cook together again, just like a team. They made a good team.

"Hey," A deep voice startled him.

"...hey.." He said, looking at the living room to see Zane sprawled out on the couch. He was in his underwear and had a grayish blanket falling off his legs, and he could see a scar on his chest. He'd never noticed before.

Zane gave him a knowing smile. "Someone can't hide his feelings very well."

"What?" Blade arched a sharp brow.

"I can see it written all over your face. It's about time you and Lily figured it out."

"It's that obvious?" Blade chuckled, leaning onto the counter.

Zane nodded and Blade laughed lightly.

"So, why the couch?" Blade questioned.

"Well, a certain red-head took over my bed and couldn't keep their hands to themselves." Zane sighed, flashing back to Trey embracing him and mumbling "Dad" under his breath.

"Oh, so you figured it out too, eh?" Blade snorted.

"What do you mean?" Zane looked confused.

"You and Angelica already sharing beds." He laughed.

"What- no I meant Trey!" He blurted out blushing at the thought of her.

"Okay, sorry, misunderstood who you meant. We have two people with red hair. Be more descriptive next time. Anyway, I'm going to cook breakfast now." He told him, shaking his head funny at Zane.

"Okay."

The kitchen had black tile flooring, marble countertops, and a table in the dining room for the team to eat together. Blade placed a couple of ingredients down on the counter for french toast and bacon.

He finished cooking and set plates out.

7 am is what he read off of the digital clock hanging above the fridge.

"It's ready."

"Alright," Zane stood up and yawned stretching his limbs. "Want me to get the others?"

"Yes."

That moment seeing Zane turn his back, hearing the sound of his fading footsteps up the stairs. Blade waited at the table feeling slightly nervous at seeing her face again. He always knew what to say to her before what changed?
