Invisible Moon Hearts
We all stood in the hallway and looked at one another. Everyone's expressions were enough to give off the mood of the room.
Ease once again looked unbothered and ready to go back to what he was doing before. But you could tell deep down he was concerned. Parker stood behind Lay with his arms still wrapped around her and his head resting on her neck as if he were a child and she was his comfort toy.
And Mah, he stood right next to me as well. Looking sicker than he had a few hours before at the park.
"As you two can see, it's getting out of control. They're becoming too comfortable with coming on our shit without permission." His face looked as if it were holding something back and could explode any moment. Sort of like a time bomb on its last few seconds. He reached under his shirt for something, and pulled out a black gun. "So the next time they show up, you two know what to do from now on."
He signaled his head towards the gun as he held it pointed upwards. Parker and Ease both nodded their heads in response.
"Can I go back to my room now?" Ease said with a yawn. As much as his attitude was nonchalant, you could tell that he cared. It was just Ease.
"Yeah, but we gotta talk about this shit in the morning, with the other two. Don't forget about them." Said Parker.
Mah nodded and Ease was the first to walk off. Parker bobbed his head towards Mah before he and Lay walked to their room as well.
Mah made his way to the room without looking at me. I followed after this time.
I walked into the room and closed the door behind me.
As soon as the door shut, Mah began to demolish anything he'd lay his eyes on in the room. He flipped the mattress over, pulled the dressers down, flipped the chair over, and knocked all of the things off of the table that was in front of the chair.
Punching walls and solid objects as if his hands were indestructible.
With every destructive motion his hand made he'd curse. I stood and tolerated all of this. He seemed to not even notice my presence in the room.
Yet, not a single thing came near to hit me. Neither was I harmed one bit.
He came to a stop a few minutes later and sat down harshly on the repositioned mattress.
Holding his head in his hands with his elbows resting on his knees, looking at nothing but the floor below him. He didn't even bother to look up at the mess before him. It was as if he didn't want to literally face the reality that stood before him.
"Mah..." I said as I took only one step forward towards him. He turned his head towards me in with a benumbed expression. Then put his head back down as discomfiture came across him.
"I wouldn't be surprised...if you didn't want to be with me from now on. A psycho like me wouldn't be any good to a girl like you anyways. I mean you've only known me for two, no three months."
He laughed to try to sound like he was okay, which he clearly wasn't.
"Funny how time flies. I'll only be a detriment to you. You're already perfect, I'd hate to ruin that, too."
He sat with his head still looking towards the floor with his knees propped up and his elbows still resting on each, avoiding as much eye contact as possible as he spoke to me. "So, maybe I should let you go. Get you in a nice place far away from here. Away from me. The damn devil in disguise. Wouldn't want to hurt ya."
