Hermione's View

7 years earlier.

First year in the Great hall I watched from my seat at the Gryffindor table, the love of my life be sorted into my enemy house for the next seven years. We locked eyes, hearing the words come out of the sorting hats mouth, "Slytherin". His face showing neither happiness nor sadness, but an expression which I took as him knowing this would be his outcome, it had been set in stone his whole life. These next seven years would be torture as we would never be allowed to be seen together or talk. In separate parts of the castle the only time together would be in class, when Slytherin and Gryffindor would be together. From that point on our friendship would fade away, as if we never talked to each other or saw each other. I had hoped we would be sorted into the same house or houses that didn't fight with each other. Yet again things were being ripped from me. My life would be very different to the one I had wished. Different crowds, different people, we would change into people we may not like but one day I hope we can be together if fate has not picked a different path for us.

Present day.

Looking out the window, I see the blurry green of the trees as we charge along on the train to Hogwarts. I sit in my usual cabin with Ginny, Harry, and Ron. They seem distracted by everything that's going on around them but my mind floats off to the classes I would be completing this year, wondering if I had packed everything I needed for this year even though I wouldn't need as much as I did last year or the years before. The war is over, and we are all heading back for our last year, Harry had been offered a job as an Auror but he refused and wanted to finish his last year first with the rest of us. The school is now run by Professor McGonagall, or might I say Headmaster McGonagall now. The school, last time I saw it was a mess, I am hoping things might be a little different this year, especially the library. I hope the books that were destroyed in the war were replaced since I haven't finished reading them all year even through many might think I would have by the end of first year.

When I first got on the train, I was faced with Pansy Parkinson, who unfortunately would be joining us again this year. She was standing beside a worse for wear Draco Malfoy. He just looked at me not saying a word after everything that he put me through all last six years of school. Hopefully this year would be different.

"Hermione?"

"What?"

I look towards where the sound was coming from to see Draco standing at the doorway of my cabin. I see that all my friends had left, and it was just me gazing out the window. I see that it is now dark outside, wondering where the time has gone and how long I was sitting there for looking out the window.

"Are you alright? Everyone has gotten off and I was left in charge of making sure there was no one left on the train," Draco said looking at the ground not meeting my eyes.

I watch as he starts to look up at me, we lock eyes and it seems like nothing has changed, but then I remember it has. I get up and walk up to him, our eyes look on each other and I watch as he moves his head closer towards me. Without realising it my head starts to move closer and then out lips connect, a spark of electricity runs through my body from my lips all the way down. His arms move under my robes and touch my sides, enclosing me in his arms and bringing me closer towards his chest. I can feel the warmth of his body against mine and I start to feel his heart beat faster. My hands move up his arms feeling all the muscles under his robes, as my hands get to his shoulder's I wrap them around his neck. A bang outside of the train breaks us apart. We both look down at our shoes and step away from each other, blushing the brightest shade of red.

"I would like to meet up with you later after dinner, if you would allow me to?" Draco asked softly into my ear. I look up in shock as we have not talked to each other in many years, except for when we are arguing.

"Yes, I would like that very much, where shall we meet up?" I ask shakily. I see his mouth create a large smile on his face, and he hugs me with so much joy, whispering into my ear, "meet me at the door to the room of requirements straight after dinner, and if I'm not there in half an hour go back to your room because I am probably being held up with Pansy. I will owl you later tonight if I didn't make it in time". With that we both walk off the train and head towards the Great Hall. We walk through the gates, walking hand in hand till we get to the front door, before letting go to part our different ways.
