Draco's view

I wake up, roll over and find an empty spot in my bed where Hermione had slept that night. My sheets smelt like her, books, vanilla, and Crookshanks. That mangy cat was roaming round somewhere, probably stole a sock or something from my room since we left the door open last night. Before I could think where Hermione may have disappeared to, I hear the shower running and singing.

"Dancing in the moonlight, everybody's feeling warm and bright, it's such a fine and natural sight, everybody's dancing in the moonlight", she sings sweetly. I poke my head into the bathroom door to listen to her finish in the shower, turning to look in the mirror and seeing that I look like I have had the most sleep in my life. I look at my hair and wonder whether I should push it back like normal or leave it shaggy as it seems I need a change this year. I leave it and brush my teeth trying not to focus on Hermione as she steps out of the shower behind me. She comes up behind me and kisses my bare back as I stand there in only my boxers whilst she is only wearing a towel. I turn round to bring her face to mine, kissing her with lots of passion.

"So, what is our first class of the day?" I ask her as I'm sure she has checked our class list and knows it by heart already. "Potions with Slughorn, then charms with Flitwick, then Herbology with Sprout, before the last class of the day with you which is Care of Magical Creatures with Hagrid, and I have astronomy with Carrow tonight," she says it without hesitating. I just smile at her knowing she would have our schedule down packed already.

She left the bathroom moving to her room to find her uniform and I go to find mine so we can head down for breakfast. As I walk into my bedroom I find Hermione's uniform from yesterday still spread across my room. I pick up each piece and her scent has filled my room. I place them on the end of my bed before finding my uniform so we can both head to breakfast together. Once I am ready I pick up Hermione's uniform moving into the main area before walking up to her door. It's open so I push it further so I can walk inside. "You left these in my room I believe you may be needing them back," I say looking down at her uniform in my arms before my gaze moves up to find Hermione standing at her draws in just her underwear, throwing things from her dresser trying to find something. My face turns a bright red colour as I thought she would have been ready to go. She looks at me and comes up to me grabbing her uniform. "Thank you, that was I was looking for, I left my list in the pocket of my skirt and I forgot I left these in your room," she smiles kissing my check.

She then moves to put a fresh uniform on, grabbing the list, along with her bag before skipping into the library to collect her schoolbooks for the day. I follow her as I need to collect mine before we head down to breakfast as we will be heading straight to class after we eat. She picks her wand up off the kitchen bench with our class schedules, putting hers into her bag and handing mine to me. I pull her hand and turn her to look at me before we head out of our dorm. "So, what is the plan then, are we together in public, together in private or nothing?" I ask her wanting to know how to act in front of our classmates, and friends. "Well, we are definitely together if that okay with you but for the minute I want to keep it private as we are just figuring us out and I don't want to get Ron and Harry into a rage path towards you on our first day of classes. So we can do us in our room and places away from everyone," she said confidently smiling up at me. "Okay, well we have classes together all of today, I will try to keep the looking at you and smiling to a minimum, since Ron and Harry will be with us as well," I say with a smirk on my face. She laces her fingers in mine and we head out of the door. Ignoring Snape's glares on our way passed him and heading through the castle to the Great Hall. We can hold hands for a while since our dorm is away from the other students dorms.

As we come to the doors of the Great Hall, we break hold of one another before smiling and walking into the hall for breakfast. I make my way to the Slytherin table, sitting down with Theo, Blaise, and Pansy. The glare at me, before Pansy whines, "Why do you have to share a dorm with that trash, you shouldn't have to be in the same place. You should have your own room in the Slytherin door away from Mudbloods." I try not to think about the words she is saying, staring over at Hermione as she sits down with her friends. She sits at the table facing my way so we can look at each other without worrying about everyone else. I hear Ron from their table angry at the fact she has to share a dorm with me in a new area of the castle away from their safety. Hermione then chimes back saying she is perfectly capable of taking care of herself, stating facts about how many times she has not only saved herself but saved both him and Harry. I smile before being brought back into the conversation at my table, feeling Pansy touching my arm. I glare at her and push her hands off of me, and start eating, ready to leave the table and go to class.

Hermione's view

I walk up to the Gryffindor table where Harry, Ron, and Ginny are sitting. They all smile at me before I see Ron's expression change as he is clearly angry at something. It's probably the fact that I am sharing a dorm with Draco. "Why should you have to share a dorm with a death eater, you shouldn't be that far away from us, what if something happens to you. We won't be close enough to help you," Ron screams so everyone can hear him. "I am perfectly fine Ron, I will be fine sharing a room with Malfoy for the year, we have different bedrooms, and there is a massive library in there. I am capable of taking care of myself as well. I don't need you or Harry to look over me like I'm a child, if you don't remember I have clearly saved myself enough times from danger without your help as well as saving both you and Harry from so much danger over the 7 years of being here," I say back at him angrily. I quietly finish eating breakfast before storming out of the Great Hall to my first class trying not to be in a sour mood for my first day of classes.

I walk to potions class, arriving at the room, the only students there. I walk into the classroom and take a seat in the middle of the classroom, it is not too close and not too far away that I can't hear or see the board, it is perfect. I put my bag onto the desk and take out my books, starting to flick through the pages waiting for everyone else to arrive.
