Chapter two

As we arrive inside Hogwarts , we make our separate ways to our tables making sure not to give each other eye contact in the process, quietly and discretely sitting at our respected house tables.  "Hermione, is everything okay, where were you, why were you walking in with him?" Ron said harshly. "I had dropped something on the train, and I was looking for it when Malfoy ran into me. He said he was told to make sure no one was still on the train," I said softly looking down at the table which was full of food. We must have missed Headmaster McGonagall's speech, since dinner was never served before the headmasters speech at the beginning of the year. 

"Ginny when do we get told about the head boy and head girl? Harry asked.

That was something I hadn't told them yet as I knew I was head girl, I was so busy rushing around organising everything for coming back to school since I don't have a home anymore, and I am currently staying at Grimmauld Place with Harry. However I did not know who the head boy would be this year, I wonder if it is Harry since he saved the Wizarding world. All of a sudden McGonagall rises from her seat as if hearing what we were talking about, moving to in front of the table to announce the head boy and head girl for the year. 

"As you all know we are yet to announce this year's head boy and head girl, these two will be representing the school, connecting the different houses together as we are one, not separate. I want to introduce this year's head girl, Hermione Granger," McGonagall announces. 

Everyone cheers loud, and Ginny squeezes me and squeals, "did you know it was you, why didn't you tell us?" "I was so busy and totally forgot I'm sorry guys, I only got the letter a few days ago, I was making sure I have everything I needed for this year," I said giving a small smile scared they may be angry with me. Before I can see their reactions McGonagall says, "And our head boy is Draco Malfoy". I snap my head round in his direction and I see he is being congratulated by his house mates. 

I hear Ron hung, "why is he head boy, Harry saved the world, and he is a Death Eat". I try not to listen to Ron whining on about Draco being head boy, when McGonagall voice beams throughout the Great Hall again, "Congratulations to this year's head boy and head girl, when dinner is finished, please stay behind there is much we have to discuss, everyone please enjoy your dinner and welcome to another amazing year at Hogwarts". 

I try to drown out everyone's talking as I focus on my own throughs. What will happen his year, what about the meeting we had organised at the room of requirements for tonight, will we be in our normal dorms in our hoses, will we be sharing our own area? All these thoughts running through my brain I almost forget to eat. 

"Hermione, are you okay?" Ginny whispers in my ear as not to get everyone's attention as she can see I may not wish for everyone to be included within the thoughts in my brain at the minute. I face her and mouth that I am fine, when I really am not right now as there is so much going on in my brain. I look down at my food and start to finally eat and wait till after dinner to find out answers to my questions.
