 Hermione's view

I race out of the door and run to the Gryffindor tower to meet Ginny and I'm hoping she isn't too mad that I'm late. I see her standing at the portrait just outside the Gryffindor entrance. She was talking with Luna and not looking too upset that I was late. "Hey, are you guys ready to leave?" I yell halfway up the stairs to where they are standing. "Yes, let's go we need as much time as possible to find you the perfect dress to look so good standing next to Malfoy," Ginny says walking up to me with Luna trailing behind her.

We walk through the halls, passing other students getting ready to head to Hogsmead as well. As we are about to head outside of the castle, Headmaster McGonagall, stops us. "Miss Granger, can I speak with you quickly before you leave?" McGonagall says as I walk towards her back inside the castle. "I need you to pick up some books for me, also as I have spoken to Mr Malfoy about your plans for the Ball and it sounds amazing. I have also asked Mr Malfoy not to wear his normal colours for the Ball and I wish you to wear a colour that isn't your house colour to show connectedness," she asks me kindly. I nod before running off to Ginny and Luna, to start heading to Hogsmead. First, we head to Dervish and Banges to pick up some books for Headmaster McGonagall, then we head to Gladrags Wizardwear to find our dresses for the Ball. We enter the shop and find a lady helping out some other young students trying to find dresses, and suits.

I walk around the shop looking to find colours that are my normal red or gold colour. I find some dresses that are a deep blue, pink, and silver. I go into the dressing room to try them on. The blue one was too big, the pink one had too much material around it and the silver one fit weirdly. Then Ginny sticks her head in and hands me one more dress to try on, "Put this on I want to see that one on you, it is definitely not your normal colour, and it would look stunning on your skin, plus it would make everyone's mouths drop". I see the colour and smile as it is the same colour as Draco's house colour. It is a stunning emerald colour and sparkly, I step out of the dressing room and everyone in the shop faces me with their mouths open. "What? You're all going to catch flies in your mouth if you stand there like that any longer," I say snapping at them. "Hermione, you look amazing, that dress fits you so well and hugs you curves amazingly. That is the dress, now all we have to do is find shoes and some jewellery to go with it", she smiles at me her smile going so big it almost meets her ears on both sides of her head.

"Well now that I have my dress let's find your dresses," I say to Ginny and Luna. "I have picked my dress, it is red the same colour as Neville's house colours, and Ginny picked a blue dress as it suits her hair so nicely," Luna beams at me. We head to the counter to pay for our dresses before heading to find some shoes and jewellery and take everything back to our rooms at Hogwarts.

Draco's view

I head to the Slytherin tower to see what Theo and Blaise are up to so we can go find some suits for the Ball on Friday. "Hey, I need a suit for Friday, did you guys need a suit or is it just me?" I ask them. They shrug and say in unison, "we have ours already". "What colours?" I ask. "Mines green and Blaise's black," Theo chimes in. "Okay well if you don't need to head to Hogsmead I will go on my own and try to find one," I say as I turn towards the exit, but Theo stops me. "Don't you already have so many suits?" "Yes, I do but McGonagall wants me to wear one that isn't my normal house colours or colours I normally wear, so I have to get a new suit," I say.

I head down to Hogsmead walking past students that are full of joy with their outfits for the Ball in hand. I head straight to Gladrags Wizardwear and before walking in I see Hermione, Ginny, and Luna finishing paying for their outfits before the head to the door. I walk in and Hermione smiles at me before I keep walking further into the shop looking at the different suits trying to find colours that are not my normal colour. I try a few on before I come to the decision that I can wear a suit that is one colour, but my shirt and tie underneath are another colour, plus I can wear shoes I already have. I find a burgundy suit with a black shirt underneath as well as a black tie and decide this is the one. It is Hermione's house colour so hopefully I might get a smile or a smirk out of her when she sees me in it as well as showing everyone else at the Ball when we dance together. I pay for it then start heading back to the castle, not being able to wait for the Ball, full of excitement.
