Chapter eleven

Hermione's view

The following week flew by, I blinked, and it was the morning of the Ball. There was so much to get done, making sure everyone was there that was on the list, and they had everything they needed. I made sure to organise a meeting with everyone on the list for after breakfast, to make sure we had everything and if there was anything else we needed they could head to Hogsmead to find it. I was running round like a headless chook; I don't know how I managed to sit down to actually eat breakfast or lunch that day, but I did since Draco made sure to check in with me that I had eaten. After lunch was finished everyone that was decorating met in the Great Hall to start beginning to move tables and set everything up before putting the decorations up. Headmaster McGonagall was able to pull some strings and get the Weird Sisters to perform at the Ball tonight after the Waltz had finished and everyone had finished dinner. I am so excited for tonight I was up last night practicing the Waltz, first on my own but then Draco got to our dorm and saw I was a right mess at it and helped me out. I have been moving round the Great Hall learning the steps making sure not to make a fool of myself tonight since Draco and I were starting the Waltz before the Prefects and 7th years joined in and then everyone else.

There were spring flowers everywhere, some floating from the ceiling, with the candles. There were flowers at all of the tables along with bright coloured tablecloths on the tables. Also, the house flags were hung up with new flags that showed the houses connected as one. I believe I heard Ginny talking to Luna about a surprise that would be happening later, but they were secretive that they wouldn't tell me, but they had permission from McGonagall, so it was fine with me. After double checking over all the decorations, Ginny and Luna dragged me away from the Great Hall before I did another round for a triple check. They took me to my dorm and shooed Draco out as they were all going to get changed in there so he decided he would go get changed at the Slytherin House, but he said he would be back here to collect me to take me to the Ball. Ginny nodded her head pushing him out and telling him that Harry, Ron, and Neville would be here too around that time to collect Ginny and Luna.

As soon as Draco left with his suit, I was pushed into a chair in front of a mirror so that Ginny could begin on my makeup and Luna started with my hair. "So, do you want your hair up or down or both?" Luna asked. I hadn't really thought of that yet too busy thinking about everything else at the time. "Well, my dress is not on my shoulders as you have seen so maybe down but a twist or something, or maybe just tame my hair and some sparkle in it if you wish," I said since my dress was sparkly. Ginny didn't ask questions she just attacked my face putting a little foundation on, putting a green eyeliner on that was winged, some mascara on, then a red lip. It looked amazing "Wow, Ginny this looks great, it's not too much but it's the right amount. Luna the hair looks great as well, that emerald hair pin looks great. I like how it is pulled out of my face and not parted in the middle". Ginny's turn was next, she had a blue dress, so she put some blue eyeshadow on and a red lip also, but her hair was up in a low bun with a blue sparkly clip. Luna had black liner on and a red lip since her dress was red, and her hair was wavy and out with a red clip. 

We then moved to put our dresses on, I put a nice pair of emerald lacy matching underwear set on under my dress as I'm sure Draco will get happy tonight, I found my black sparkly heels, some emerald dangly earrings in and no necklace as I wanted to show off some skin tonight. There was already a spilt in the front of the dress, it was made that way I didn't do it myself, it helped so I could move around the dance floor. Ginny walked out of the bathroom with her deep blue dress on it have spaghetti straps and was a silk material that hugged her body. Luna was in the lounge room in a red princess dress that was full of tulle on the bottom and had sleeves that were off the shoulder at the top. We then moved towards the portrait to see if the boys had arrived, but first check we looked good in the mirror. Just as we were making our way to the portrait, it opened obviously they were losing their minds talking to Snape for however long they were there for. Draco was standing in front of the door in a burgundy suit with a black shirt and tie underneath. He had left his hair and it made waves on top but was brushed out of his eyes. Harry was standing behind him with a navy suit on and a white shirt underneath. Ron had a red suit on which was expected as he didn't like other colours really other than his own house colour. Neville was at the back with a black suit on it was very fancy and had tails on the back of it. All four of their mouths dropped open when they saw us. Draco held out his hand and I took it as we all walked down the stairs, I was trying very hard not to trip over in the process thankfully Draco had a hold of my hand.
