I jumped at her, almost forcing her to lift me so that we won't fall on to the floor.

"Calm down, Lyca." My mother tells me, but I couldn't care less.

"Nana! I missed you so much!" I tell her as I hug her even tighter.

"I missed you too, sweet pea." I savour her scent. The very scent that always calms me down when I was younger. I missed her oh so much.

I let go of her and look at her. She aged, but gracefully.

"Why are you here? And where's Mateo?" I ask them.

"Let's get settled down first." My father tells us, and we settle in the living room, my arms not letting go of Nana. My father turns to Aries, telling him that he should stay for dinner. He initially refused but my father insisted.

'He really can't say no to my dad, can he?' Eden tells me smiling. 'What if your father tells him to choose you as his Luna, will he say yes too?'

'Shut it!' I scold Eden, then I hear my grandma chuckle. Shoot.

"So, why is Nana here and my brother missing in action?" I ask again.

"Nana is staying here for a while until the things at her pack gets settled." My father explained.

"What happened?" I ask her.

"Rogue attack. This time, there were tens of them. They..." Nana trails off as a sad smile form on her lips. "They killed Alpha Luke."

I cussed under my breath.

Alpha Luke is my nana's best friend. When my grandfather, former Suncrest's Beta Damian passed away, she decided to go back to her home pack. She only moved to Suncrest when she found her mate and moved back to her home pack since my mother has her family to take care of.

Alpha Luke was more than willing to take her in, since their pack was way smaller than ours. He said he could use Nana's help in managing things around the pack.

He lost his Luna three years ago, and Nana has been a great help to him. The incident made them closer to each other than they already were, and Alpha Luke even considered making her his Luna, but Nana declined. Fortunately, the rejection did not tarnish their friendship. Whatever happened behind their closed doors are their own business.

"Then where is Mateo?" I ask again.

"He's over there helping out the Beta and Lucia, the current Alpha Regent of the pack." Mother explains.

"Alpha Luke's daughter is taking over?" I ask in surprise. Never have I ever heard of a woman, taking over the duties of an Alpha.

"It's not impossible, Lyca." Aries tells me. "There's been a few packs that had been led by a Luna. Some of them are wives of Alphas that passed, some are daughter who had no older brother, some are even born Alphas."

Aries' tone was so serious as if there was more to what he was saying.

We sat for more chats and headed to the dining room for dinner. My father sat at the head of the table, my mom and nana on his left and right. Beta Luca has also joined us for dinner like he always does and sat beside my mom. I sat beside Nana and instantly froze when Aries took the seat beside me.

Why? There's a vacant seat beside Beta Luca, why would he seat beside me.

"So tell me Aries, why haven't you marked Lyca yet?"

Aries and I both choked on my grandmother's words.

"Mom!" my mom exclaimed.

"What?" nana asked innocently.
