It's Luna Isabelle's birthday today. And as per tradition, the Triad leaders were invited, including their families. I hear my brother start his car at the front of the packhouse as he waits for me to join him.
I take a final look at myself in the mirror and smile in contentment. I'm wearing a plain red chiffon dress with mesh neckline and sleeves that falls up to my elbow, paired with a pair of black flat shoes.
I hear aggressive knock on my door with my brother shouting that we're going to be late.
"Hold your horses!" I shout at him. I grab my phone lying on top of my dresser and run to the door.
"Geeze! What took you forever?" he says annoyed.
"I was just making sure that I look ok." I tell him as we head downstairs.
"You're ugly." He says deadpan.
"You're a dimwit." I retorted, hearing chuckles from Eren and Eden. He stops on his tracks and glares at me.
"You said what?" he asks, obviously angered by my choice of word, but I'm not backing down.
"Are you two fighting again?" says my mom coming from my father's office.
"She called me a dimwit!" he snitches like a kid.
"And watcha gonna do about it, huh? Future Alpha?" I ask, raising my eyebrows on him mocking him. He clutches his fists as I walk slowly towards our mom.
"He's gonna hurt me!" I shout dashing towards my mother and hid behind her. "He called me ugly."
My mother frowns at my brother and I stick my tongue at him.
"That's not nice." My mother reminded my 23-year-old brother and I mock him by making faces at him.
"You're still here?" my father comes out of his office, surprised seeing his children still at home. "Aren't you supposed to leave at 5?"
He looks at his watch to see that it's already 15 minutes past five.
"They were fighting." Mom tells on us, and I frown at her.
"You're both grownups and you still fight?" my father asks furrowing his brows.
"I'm just 17." I defend myself and my brother frown.
"Off you go. You don't want to be late when we just live nearest to them."
I kiss my parents goodbye and since he's too old for it, my brother just waved at them and started to walk out of the house.
"Don't cling onto Aries too much." My mother reminds.
"She won't mom. Because Aries will have a girl in his arms tonight for sure." He tells our mom but was obviously mocking me.
The ride to Aries' pack was silent between me and my brother but Eren and Eden are arguing like they always do. I don't even pay attention to them anymore when they bicker or argue. It helps in lessening the headache.
The front of the Clearwater packhouse is already packed, with the Clearwater pack members and other higher officials of neighbouring packs.
Despite the invitation being sent to all neighbouring packs, most Alphas decided to decline the invitation and sent either their Betas or Gammas for a very valid reason.
Once the Alpha leaves their territory together with their Bettas, their pack becomes vulnerable to any Rogue attack.
I see Aries sitting around the bonfire with some of his friends, surprisingly, he's got no girl with him. James, who was sitting beside Kara saw me and Mateo and wave at us.
