The next morning Carrie realised she didn't have Eddies number or anyway to contact him, she also didn't want to ask her brother how to as she didn't fancy a hundred questions just yet.

"Dustin! Max is here," Carrie shouted from the door, she welcomed Max in watching as Dustin came to the door looking rather confused. "Goodbye Carrie," Dustin hinted for his sister to leave, "Yeah, yeah, have you heard from Eddie today?" she quickly asked. "Eddie?" both Max and Dustin questioned. "Okay, so I know why you'd be shocked Dustin, but Max what has Eddie got to do with you?" Carrie questioned the younger, red haired girl. "Oh God," Max stuttered as she walked into the Hendersons living room. Dustin looked at Carrie confused, she returned the confused look. On a closer inspection of her face, Max was visibly confused. "I saw Eddie last night, he was welcoming someone in and then this morning, I woke up, there was police everywhere, surrounding his trailer," Carrie's heart dropped in panic, was Eddie okay? Police? "I saw into his trailer, there was no sign of Eddie, just a girl on the floor," then Max revealed who the girl was. "Chrissy Cunningham?" Dustin questioned, Carrie couldn't speak, nothing came from her throat, it was dry, she lost all ability of sound. "You're sure it was Chrissy?" Dustin asked. "Yes, in her cheerleader outfit, the same thing she was in when I saw her with Eddie," Max replied, Carrie still hadn't spoken a word. "Did you tell all this to the cops?" was Dustins next question. "No" Max's reply was quick, "But I- I can't be the only one who saw them together, they stood out," Carrie knew she needed to speak up. "Eddie the freak, with Chrissy the cheerleader?" Dustin was sure Max had seen wrong. "I saw them together before D&D," Carrie finally spoke up, "Max isn't wrong, at Skull Rock, she came and wanted to buy drugs from Eddie, at least that's what he told me," Carrie finally broke her silence. "See, Im not wrong, his name isn't in the news or anything yet but I guarantee you, Eddie is suspect one right now," Max spoke. "Thats crazy! Eddie didn't do this! No way!" Dustin confidently shot back, "No way!" he repeated. "Well we can't rule it out," Max replied. "Yes we can," Carrie spoke, causing both the kids to turn shocked. "Thank you Carrie," Dustin chimed in. Max still wasn't convinced. "When we got to school, Lucas made all his sports friends, Mike and me? No one was nice to us, except Eddie," Dustin spoke. It almost warmed Carries heart that Eddie could be so kind even when the world seemed to be against him. She was quickly snapped back into reality, by Max "Okay well they said the same shit about Ted Bundy, yeah he's a super nice guy but he's like murdering women on the weekend," Dustin looked flabbergasted. "So you're saying Eddie is like Ted Bundy?" he replied. "No- I'm saying we can't presume anything, it doesn't look good for Eddie," both Dustin and Carrie shook their heads, there's no way he did this. "Why haven't you told the cops this?" Carrie questioned. "I dont know," Max began to look nervous. "You dont know?" Dustin shot back. "After I saw Eddie and Chrissy go into the trailer," Max began, the image of this made Carries skin crawl. "Something else happened..." Max began to explain what happened with her glitching TV, and the noises she could hear outside until she got to the fact she saw Eddie driving away at speed. She explained why it didn't seem weird to her at first and it made sense to Dustin and Carrie. "He was really scared Dustin, scared because he had just killed someone, or scared because I dont know-" Max stopped. "Someone else killed her?" Carrie questioned, Max didn't reply, "or something else killed her?" Dustin emphasised the 'thing' which lead to Max eventually nodding. The conversation seemed trapped between just the two of them, Carrie watching confused. "Thats impossible right?" Max questioned. "I dont know, it should be," Dustin replied, both of them turning to his sister. "Theres only one person who actually knows what happened," Dustin and Max looked genuinely worried. "Eddie," Carrie finished. "Carrie, I need to tell you something about last year,"

"Have you told anyone else?" Dustin, Carrie and Max were walking at high speed out of the house. "No, I can't find Lucas or Nancy and Mikes in.." Max didn't finish, "California, shit, shit, shit," Dustin finished for her. "I can't believe you never told me all of this," Carrie spoke to her brother opening the door for them. "Dusty, Carrie, where are you going?" their mother asked. "To see a friend," they replied in unison. "You heard the news its not safe," she replied. "I'm going with him Mom, its fine," Carrie replied which quickly put their mom at ease. "Man it would of been a lot easier to get out of the house last year if you'd of joined," Dustin spoke to his sister. "Yeah well its not in the sister handbook to look out for literal monsters," she replied getting in the car.

"Steve, you're meant to be working not questioning every life decision," Robin and Steve had worked at the video store for some time now, they were best friends and platonic soulmates, with a capital P, of course. "She should of been there, Carrie is usually at the Basketball games, you know she is," Steve spoke, huffing to his friend. "You wanted to see her but took a date? Really good idea Steve," Robin rolled her eyes at him. "Well, we've not actually spoken in a while, I thought yesterday would be a nice time to catch up," Steve explained. "You know, you never actually told me what happened between the two of you, how can I help if you dont tell me hm?" Robin pushed for some answers. "That was a different Steve, High School Steve was not a good time," he shook his head, "I just made the wrong choice," he shrugged his shoulders. "One day, you're gonna have to tell me,"she paused looking out the window, "now might be a good time," she gestured to the window, Steve looked up seeing Dustin, Max and Carrie walked towards the shop.

"Dustin you didn't say Steve worked here," Carrie complained. "Yeah well, you're over him right?" Dustin smiled as they rushed into the shop. As the shop door opened Carrie looked up to see Steve already looking at her. "Right," she breathed. "Hey Steve," Dustin rushed to the counter, Steve was still looking at Carrie. "H-hey," he said drawing his eyes away looking down to Dustin. "Have you seen this?" he points to the TV, Robin is sat next to him. "How many phones do you have?" Dustin questioned. "Someone was murdered," Steve replied, unsure of why Dustin would ask that now. "How many phones do you have?" Dustin repeated himself. "Erm, two why?" Steve finally replied. "Technically three if you count Keiths," Robin added. "Yeah, three works," Dustin looked at Max nodding, Carrie stood behind them, still confused. Suddenly Dustin jumped onto the encounter knocking everything off. "What are you doing man?" Steve questioned running his hand through his hair, staring at the mess. "Setting up a base of operations here," Dustin calmly replied. "Base of operations?" Robin questioned. "I need this," Dustin motioned to the computer. "For what?" Steve questioned. "Eddie's friends phone numbers," Dustin explained like it should make sense. "Oh Eddie, your new best friend Eddie who you think is cooler than me because he plays your nerdy video game," Steve spoke clearly jealous which caused Carrie to snigger. "Yes. I never said that," Dustin replied. "Seriously, you guys, maybe on a Monday you can play around but its Saturday, our busiest day," Robin stressed. "Alright look, Robin I totally empathise but this cannot wait until Monday," Dustin replied as Carrie and Max stood shoulder to shoulder looking at the computer. "Oh my God, I can't believe you'd let him do this," Steve pointed to Carrie. "Me?" Carrie was shocked. "You fought Russian spies with him!" Carrie shot back. "Oh he told you about that," Steve rubbed the back of his neck. "Carrie, I've heard a lot about you," Robin held out her hand. "Hi Robin," Carrie shook it. "Oh you know me, awkward,"Robin looked shocked. "My friend Vicky is in band too so," Carrie nodded, Robins eyes went wide at the mention of her crush. "How is calling Eddies friends an emergency?" Steve questioned. "Can you fill them in while I do this?" Dustin looked at his sister and Max who then looked at each other. "Fill us in on what?" Robin looked concerned. Carrie and Max took a deep breathe before starting.
