It was pretty dark by the time they had past through the final bushes and trees. "How can we be here? I mean it's a lake?" Eddie questioned. "Lovers lake," he nudged Carrie causing her to roll her eyes, smiling. Everyone groaned at the fact they were stuck on a lake, until Eddie revealed a boat covered by tarp.

Robin walked onto the boat as Steve and Eddie held it for her. Nancy was next, using Steve's hand to guide her in, then Carrie. Both Steve and Eddie held out their hand for Carrie, causing her to shake her head, taking Eddies hand to guide her. Eddie smirked at Steve. Eddie followed, sitting next to Carrie. Dustin went to step on the boat. "Hey, hey, hey are you trying to sink us?" Eddie put his hand up to stop Dustin getting into the boat. "Eddie," Carrie, spoke, sticking up for her brother. "I mean, that's too many people," he explained. "You guys can stay with Max," Carrie explained to her brother. "Yeah look out for trouble," Nancy added. "You look out for trouble!" Dustin stressed. "Dustin," his sister reprimanded him. "It's my god damn theory!" he pointed out. "Just listen to your sister," Robin spoke. "Who put you in charge?" Dustin aimed at Robin. "I did," she shot back. "Just give me the compass," Carrie told her brother. He reluctantly gave it to her. Dustin stepped back with the rest of the group. Steve pushed the boat out quickly jumping onto it. "Im not babysitting again," Steve spoke as the boat moved further out. "Byee," Eddie waved as Dustin stood in the distance. "Keep your hands off my sister while you're on that boat!" Dustin shouted. "But when we're off it right?" Eddie shouted back laughing to himself.

"Well this is a fun little group outing," Eddie rubbed his hands together smiling. "Ah ha," Steve replied nodding awkwardly. There was a very awkward silence to follow, which Robin promptly broke. "Shall we fix this awkwardness since god knows what we're going to find down there?" she asked. "There's nothing to fix," Carrie shrugged. "Really?" Nancy replied. "I feel like since I got here its been none stop eye rolls and funny looks," she clearly her throat. "Yeah to Steve, I haven't done it to you, you haven't done anything wrong," Carrie shrugged, she hadn't aimed anything at Nancy, not that she could remember anyway. "I'd say its more awkward between Eddie and Steve than me and Nancy," Carrie smiled. "Well it wasn't before you said that," Steve pointed out. "Not your finest move," Eddie smirked nudging her. "I think we should just get it all out into the open," Robin nodded. "Thats because you're nosey and it doesn't concern you," Steve spoke. "I'm the observer okay, I probably know more about it that all of you," she nodded, "From observing," she clarified. "Okay, want me to just put something out there and see where it goes," she asked. "Not really," Steve replied. "Eddie I think you like Carrie," she smiled, "a lot," she finished, motioning for Eddie to reply. "Thats because I do like Carrie," he smiled with no embarrassment or shame. "Boom, easy, one down," Robin patted herself on the back. "Nancy, I dont think your relationship with Jonathon is as perfect as it seems," Robin spoke. Steve's head shot up, a sort of smirk crept onto his face that he probably didn't realise he was pulling, Nancys mouth dropped open, both Eddie and Carries eyes widened in shock. Carrie looked to Steve, noticing his hint of happiness at Robins statement. Robin watched Carrie in this moment. "That's none of your business," Nancy replied. "And I think, in this moment Carrie just made a decision," Robin smiled. "What are you talking about?" she asked. "Come on," Robin hinted between the boys. "Steve if you've got something to say to Carrie I'd say it now," Robin suggested. "Look, I dont wanna be the bad guy here, but wouldn't you get bored of dating yourself?" he pointed between the similarities of Eddie and Carrie. "We're not the same person," Carrie shook her head. "Yeah, she prefers Motley Crue and I'm a total Black Sabbath boy," Eddie winked to Carrie and she laughed at his joke. Steve didn't get the joke and that just cemented her feelings even more.

"Guys, I think we're here," Carrie spoke, pointing to the compass. The compass was spinning in circles, Robin walkied Dustin asking him what it meant. Carrie was right, it meant they were over it. Steve began undressing. "Wow, take me out for dinner first Steve," Eddie laughed. "Somebodies got to go down there and check this out," Steve pointed out. "Unless one of you can top being a Hawkins swim co- captain and a certified lifeguard for three years, it's got to be me, no complaints right?" He waited for someone to stop him. Carrie went to speak. "No," Steve stopped her, they both knew that she'd be a lifeguard a year longer than him, she'd been the one to get him the job but he wouldn't let her go down there. Steve began to undress, Carrie and Robin notice as Nancy stares at his back muscles that flex slightly. 'Its just back muscles' Carrie thought to herself but then she found herself thinking back to how Eddies back muscles felt as he thrust into her only hours ago, then she understood Nancys fascination. Robin and Carrie smiled to each other. Eddie handed Steve a flashlight wrapped in a plastic bad, "Good Luck," he smiled up at him. "Thanks," Steve spoke taking the flashlight. "Ew Gross," Robins face scrunched up at the fact Eddie was lighting a cigarette. Eddie just laughed. "M' lady?" he questioned, holding out the cigarette to share with Carrie. "Thank you kind sir," she replied. Robin looked between the pair finding it repulsively sweet how similar they were. They all watched as Steve and Nancy had a cute moment about Steves safety and with Eddie sat next to her, for the first time Carrie didn't mind watching it, however she couldn't lie and say it didn't still sting. The group watched as Steve dove into the water, splashing them all and rocking the boat slightly. The group sat and waited in anticipation for Steve to reappear. "It's taking too long," Nancy spoke, worried. "Its Steve, he'll be fine," Eddie tried to reassure her. "Any more left in your confession tank?" Nancy asked Robin. "Nah, they're only good when I get to watch Steve react to them," she smiled. Nancy just nodded before looking over the side of the boat.

The group felt water splash all over them, causing them to jump as Steve appeared gasping at the side of the boat. Eddie and Carrie jumped, grabbing onto each other for safety. "Jesus Steve," Robin shouted. "It's there, the gate," Steve gasped for air. "I found it," he spoke, hanging onto the boat. "You found it?" Robin questioned. "You actually found it?" Nancy question. Carrie and Eddie were behind them still trying to get their heart rates back to normal. Robin radioed to Dustin, calling him a genius and telling them that Steve had found the gate. Carrie and Eddie's heart rates at reached normal, unfortunately for them it wouldn't be for long.

"Steve!" Nancy shouted, it all happened so fast as Steve was dragged back under the water. The group began to panic watching as their friend was dragged under the water. Nancy was the first to jump in the water without thinking. "Nancy!" Carrie cried out. "Robin dont," Carrie warned before she watched a third friend jump into the lake. "I guess its our turn," Carrie turned to Eddie."Our turn? WHAT" he exclaimed. "We have to go in too," she pointed out. "Theres already three of them, why add us too?" Eddie asked, standing up on the boat as Carrie had. "Eddie!" Carrie moaned. "We have to help them!" she told him picking up the bat she had earlier stolen from Jason. "I can't swim," Eddie scrambled for an excuse. "What better time to learn," Carrie replied. "I'm allergic to water?" Eddie attempted to lie. "Wow, you're sexy when you panic," Carrie laughed before pushing him off the boat and jumping in with him. "WOAH, SHIT!" were his last words before landing in the water. He resurfaced as did Carrie. "Come on," she grabbed his arm pulling him, unfortunately he was stronger so pulled back. Carrie reached up, holding has face, crashing her lips to his. "Some good luck for you," she said, winking before swimming in the direction the Steve was pulled. "Ah shit," Eddie dove down after her.
