After explaining everything to Steve and Robin the group began to make phone calls, trying to find a friend that Eddie might have been staying with. Steve pulled Carrie to one side, "Since when do you join in with all of this?" he questioned her. "Since Eddie is my friend," she replied. "Your friend huh?" Steve questioned, appearing slightly jealous. "Is that okay with you?" Carrie scoffed. "Im just wondering if you're friends the way we were friends?" he questioned again. "Well, friend Steve who hasn't spoken to me in a year, I highly doubt it," she shook her head. "You never wanted to speak to me," Steve spoke. "I really hope you remember why," Carrie shot back. "I mean, yeah obviously but I'm not the same Steve, I swear, High School Steve is not me now Steve," he tried to explain.  "I'll believe that when I see it," Carrie scoffed once again. "Yeah well you will see it as we look for your friend Eddie," he emphasises the 'friend'. "No, yeah I can see a huge difference," she shook her head. "I've got a customer," he spoke, taking a film over a girl in the shop. "It's filmed with action and romance and a little bit of suspense," he winked. "So my boyfriend won't like totally puke when I bring it home," the customer smiled. "Oh you- your Boyfriend? No he's gonna love it," Steve spoke walking away, Carrie began to laugh. "Funny, you found your freak boyfriend yet?" Steve spoke sarcastically. "Not yet, but if you hurry outside you could ask your girlfriend for her boyfriends number," Carrie laughed at him, Steve was about to speak when Max spoke, "Guys, I might have a lead," Carrie had never seen Dustin look so hopeful and relieved.

"Seriously?" he questioned. "Apparently Eddie gets his drugs from some guy named Reefer Rick, and sometimes Eddie crashes there" Max started, Steve widened his eyes at the idea of drugs. "Your kid brother hangs out with a drug dealer, how cool," Steve whispered to Carrie. "You hang out with my kid brother, how cool," she shot back, also whispering. "Where does this Reefer Rick live?" Robin questioned. "Thats the thing no one knows, he's more of a legend than someone people actually know," Max spoke. "Got a last name?" Dustin asked, Max shook her head. "Bet the cops know a last name," Steve spoke bluntly. Everyone turned. "What?" Carrie was confused at why he was being so moody. "Cops, if he's really a drug dealer, he'll of been busted at some point, he's bound to be in the system," Steve explained. "The cops, really Steve? Thats your suggestion?" Dustin was not impressed. "I just figured at this point they should be filled in on what we know, what's going on," Dustin was not happy with Steves insinuations. "You think Eddies guilty dont you?" Dustin wasn't happy. "He didn't say that Dustin," Carrie spoke up, unsure of why she was defending Steve. "Yeah I didn't say that, I just dont think we can rule it out," Steve spoke. "What?" Carrie turned to him. "Eddie didn't do this," Carrie spoke calmly but firm. "Of course you're not gonna think your boyfriend did it," Steve shot. "Boyfriend?" Dustin snapped. "No, he's not my boyfriend Dusty, Steves just being a jealous dick," Carrie aimed the last comment right at Steve. "Oh I'm the dick? Theres no dead body in my house," Steve finished, the pair began bickering until- "Guys!" Robin pulled everyone attention away, "Maybe we dont need a last name," she spoke logging onto the computer and typing. "Twelve ricks have accounts here," she spoke. "Thats a lot of Ricks" Max noted. "So lets narrow it down," Robin began looking at the films everyone had taken out and watched. When the finally got to a list of films about weed they realised they had the right guy and now had the address. One step closer to finding Eddie.

They set off right away, Steve reluctantly following the group. Dustin began to knock on the door, no one answered. "Guess he's not here then," Steve mumbled causing Carrie to roll her eyes. Dustin continued to shout but still no one answered. Carrie continued to walk around the house until she saw a run down looking shed. "Hey guys!" She shouted, showing them the direction of the shed. They all began to walk towards it, Steve beginning to lead the group. They edged closer and closer inside. As the group walked in Steve picked up an oar and began tapping at some tarpoling, "Dont worry guys, Steves gonna get him with his oar," Dustin laughed. "I know you think you're being funny right now, but considering most of us have nearly died about a hundred times, personally I dont find it funny in the slight-" Steve was cut off when something jumped out, causing everyone to scream in shock. That was until Carrie realised who it was, "Eddie," she shouted, as soon as he heard her voice he stopped attacking Steve and ran to her, picking her up and spinning her around in joy. "Oh my God, I've been so scared," he panted into her shoulder. "No one here's gonna hurt you Eddie," she hugged him back tightly. They let go of one another.  "Boy am I glad to see you Princess," he smiled at her, she returned the smile. "Princess?" Steve questioned as he dropped his oar. "It's a D&D thing right?" Dustin said brushing it off. Both Carrie and Eddie paused, "Right," Eddie nodded to Dustin. "We're here to help you Eddie," Dustin spoke, Eddie looked over at everyone as the smiled back a him, everyone but Steve. "These are my friends, you know Robin from band, this is my friend Max, the one who never wants to play D&D, and then obviously my sister, and erm Steve. Eddie we're on your side, we swear on my mother right guys," Dustin gestured for everyone to join. "On Dustins mother," Steve, Robin and Max spoke on after another. "On my own mother I guess," Carrie spoke. "We just want to talk Eddie," Carrie squeezed his hand as he sat down. He looked terrified, a sort of fear that Carrie had never seen on a persons face. "We need to know what happened," Robin spoke gently. Eddie began to shake, tears forming in his eyes as he remembered the pain of his experience. "You won't believe me," he sniffled. "Try us," Max spoke. He began to tell them, "Her body like just lifted into the air and uh then she just like hung there and her bones uh," tears began to roll down his face as the group listened closely, "her bones began to snap. Her eyes man, it was like something was inside her head, pulling. I- I didn't know what to do so I ran away. I left her there," guilt ran across his face as he looked up, "You all think I'm crazy right?" he scoffed covering his face. "No, we dont think you're crazy," Dustin spoke. "Dont bullshit me man! I know how this sounds!" Eddie snapped. "We're not bullshitting you," Max spoke. "We believe you," Carrie gave him a soft smile. "Look, what I'm about to tell you may be a little difficult to take," Dustin began. "Okay," Eddie replied. "You know how people say Hawkins is cursed? They're not way off. Theres another world. A world hidden beneath Hawkins. Sometimes it bleeds into ours," Dustin head never looked so serious. "Like ghosts and shit?" Eddie questioned. "There are somethings worse than ghosts," Max's tone was serious yet worried. "These monsters from this other world," Dustin Began again, "we thought they were gone, but they've come back before, that's why we needed to find you," Eddie looked up at Dustin. "If they're back again, we need to know," Max spoke. "That night did you see anything?" Robin asked. "Dark particles maybe?" Max asked. Eddie just began to shake his head. "It would almost look like dust, swirling dust," Dustin tried to explain. "No man, there was nothing I could see or uh touch," he paused for a second. "You know, I tried to wake her man, She couldn't move, it was like she was in a trance or something, a curse," he finished. "Vecnas curse" Dustin spoke, both Eddie and Carrie looked confused. "Whose Vecna?" Steve asked. "Dustin that's from a game," Carrie shook her head. "Its an undead creature of great power," Dustin spoke. "A spell caster," Eddie answered. "A dark wizard," Dustin finished.
