Everyone had left to go pick up some supplies for Eddie, Carrie decided to stay, unfortunately for Steve who didn't want to leave her with Eddie, but she stood her ground, she felt safe with him and wasn't going to just leave him here alone.
"I'd of run away to you know, you shouldn't feel guilty for running. Theres no shame in running right?" Carrie repeated his words from the D&D game. He scoffed slightly. "She was fine one minute, I went to my bedroom came back and she was-" he stopped. Carrie nodded, making a note that she needed to ask why Chrissy was in his house in the first place but right now definitely wasn't the right time. "I didn't imagine this would be the next place we'd be alone together after last night," Carrie laughed slightly, trying to ease the tension. "Ha, I haven't even had time to process what happened between us last night," Eddie spoke, looking out of the window. "No of course not, I dont know why I brought it up," Carrie shook her head feeling silly. "The best memory straight before the worst," Eddie looked at her, smiling slightly. "If you dont mind me asking, what's the deal with you and Steve?" Eddie asked, which made Carrie cough. "Oh erm, what do you mean?" she played dumb. "I clearly wasn't happy when I called you Princess," he smiled, even after everything he was still as charming. "A year or so back, we nearly dated but he decided he wanted someone else," she shrugged. "Someone else over you?" Eddie questioned. Carrie just nodded. "Thats insane, you're the most beautiful girl in Hawkins," he winked to her, they had gotten closer over the period of conversation. Carrie could feel herself leaning into him, Eddie began to follow. Their lips were inches apart, milliseconds away from touching.
"Everyone else is bringing bags in," a voice burst through the door causing the pair to jump apart. "Jesus Steve," Carrie breathed heavily, "You scared the shit out of me," she put her hand to her heart. "Oh my God, you were about to kiss," Steve read the room, it was obvious to be fair. "It's nothing to do with you anymore Steve," Carrie stood. "He had another girl at his house and you we're going to just sweep it under the rug and kiss him, I mean did you even ask him why Chrissy was there?" Steve questioned. "Come on man," Eddie ran his hand through his hair. "The cheerleader and the freak, now that's some VHS porn," Steve laughed maliciously. "Steve!" Carrie stopped him, "He's got a point Eddie," Carrie finally said. "WHAT?" Eddie was shocked that she would take his side. "The cheerleader was at your house," Carrie spoke. Steve nodded. "What you think I killed her?" Eddie questioned. "What? No! I dont think you killed her Jesus," Carrie was confused why I'd even question her. "Then what Carrie?" Eddie was fuming by now. "Did you fuck her?" Carrie shouted back at him. "Oh my god, you're unbelievable, a girl is dead and you're playing the jealousy card, Jesus Carrie," it stung how he said her name in such disbelief but she'd already started it. "Skull Rock and then your house, what am I meant to think Eddie?" Carrie felt defeated. "She wanted drugs," Eddie began to explain. "You said you gave her them at Skull Rock," Carrie shot back. "She wanted stronger drugs," he tried to defuse the situation. "Chrissy Cunningham wanted strong drugs?" Steve laughed. "You surely dont believe him Car?" Steve spoke, still laughing. "You know what Steve, Ive believed less convincing haven't I? and you dont get to call me that anymore," Carrie was firm, just as the rest of the group walked in.
"Hey guys, we got supplies," Dustin smiled as he, Max and Robin entered. Everyone sat down as Eddie began to eat. "So erm we got some good news and bad news, how do you prefer it?" Dustin asked him. "Bad news first always," Eddie spoke like it should be obvious. "Well, the cops there definitely looking for you," Dustin tried to deliver the news with a smile, "they're also pretty convinced you killed Chrissy," he finished. "Like 100% convinced," Max added. "And the good news?" Eddie asked. "You're name hasn't been released yet, but if we worked it out its only a matter of time before others do," Robin spoke, trying to speak as softly as possible. "Once that gets out, everyone and their shallow minded mother will be looking for you," Robin finished. "Hunt the freak right?" Eddie spat, Carrie sat next to him, reaching for his hand and squeezing it in reassurance. "So before that happens, we find Vecna, kill him and prove your innocence," Dustin explained. "Thats all? Dustin, that's all?" sarcasm dripped from Eddies tone. "I know it sounds bad but we've actually been through all of this before," Robin smiled, "I mean they have multiple times, and I have once," Robin gestured, everyone nodded, but Carrie. "You're technically not alone, I've not done this before either, but I trust them," Carrie nodded. "The bottom line is, collectively, we've got this," Robin smiled. "We usually rely on this girl with like super powers, but er those went bye bye, so we're technically in more of a brainstorming phase right now," the group tried to sugar coat it. "But erm there's nothing to worry about," Dustin smiled, as did the rest of the group. Eddie looked terrified but he felt a little better due to the fact that his hand still rested in Carries. The group shot up when sirens began to echo in the background. "Shit," Steve panicked. "Tarp" Robin reminded Eddie to hide. Eddie gave Carrie a weak smile, she returned it, covering his body with the tarp. The group ran to the window where the saw police cars and an ambulance race past the hunt they hid in.
"Eddie you can come out, they're gone," Carrie spoke sweetly. He did as she said removing the tarp. "We need to go follow that," Dustin motioned to the cars that had just whizzed past. "Im not leaving Eddie," Carrie was firm. "We have to go and see Carrie," Dustin replied to his sister. "Hey," Eddie touched Carries hand, pulling her away from the group, "Hey you," he smiled to her. She bit her bottom lip, dragging it between her teeth. "Hi," she replied. "Oh dont do that," his thumb brushed over her mouth. "Urgh, Ill wait in the car," could be heard behind them as everyone began to leave. "You have to go with them," Eddie nudged the girl who was now in a mood. "You're no help to me here, and I dont think we should be trusted alone," he smirked to her causing her to giggle. "Our first time will not be in a dingy shed thing," he winked. "Eddie!" she gasped, how could someone she had technically met in just over a day make her feel like this. "Go, I'll be fine Princess," he pressed his forehead to hers, she smiled up at him. He leaned back before kissing her forehead and sending her out. "I miss you already," he winked. She laughed, shaking her head.
"Ready Princess?" Steve mimicked. "Just to be clear, I am not happy with whatever is going in there or here," Dustin spoke. "Both of you, shut up," Carrie rolled her eyes as they set off.
