CHAPTER 22: Signs At My Friends

3 Weeks ago

Toby Pov:

Me and Xavier just sat there, staring into the night at star's, sneakingly shooting glances at each other as we sank into our surroundings of our spot. It was so peaceful here, the thoughts of staying longer basked my mind, but I couldn't I knew I had to go home. I reached over to tug on Xavier's arms to signal him that I have to leave. Xavier got the message and he stood up first and dusted the dirt off his pants, when he was done he reached his hands out to me, so I couldn't trip or fall on the rock we were on. Once I was up and off the rock he dusted the dirt and gravel off my pants, when he was all finished he got up and gave me a smile, in which I gave him one back. We made our way to his car, with him holding my hand. Xavi opened the car door for me and watched me as I got in, before closing the door, which I thought was sweet 🥰, he jogged his way to the other side of the car, and got in. He buckled his seatbelt, and tried to reached over to do mines, but I stopped him in his tracks., while letting out a giggle." Xavi what are you doing, I can put it on myself" I watched his hand retreat back to on the wheel, and I smiled up at him.

"My bad sunshine, just thought I could lend a hand" he said that while giving me a slight smirk 😏. I smiled and turned my face towards the window. Xavier leaned over to turn on the radio and from there we were just listening to the music, after a while my eye lids got heavy, and I found myself drifting off to sleep.

I was suddenly woken up, by Xavier brushing his hand through my hair while the other was lightly tapping me. I turned my body towards him and gave him a sweet smile. " we reached here so fast". As I was saying that I was rubbing the sleep away from my eyes, and reaching down to unbuckle my seatbelt. It unraveled and I was about to make my way throughout the car door, but Xavier stopped and pulled me back in for a hug. We sat like that for a while until, we eased off each other just a little. Now Xavier was full blown staring at me, and I was starting to blush. I turned my head a little to the side, so he wouldn't see my flustered face. Xavier pulled it back and leaned down to he was hovering over my forehead. He placed a kiss on my forehead, and downward to my checks, placing 2 kisses on both sides. All I could do was smile from ear to ear, and jump out the car, but before I completely closed the car door I issued a swift good night to Xavier. I got to my front door and waved again towards him, he waved back and open his car window. "Goodnight sunshine".

Tonight was really fun and sweet with Xavi, I checked my phone real quick and saw it 11:55, I better run up to bed before my parents notice I just got in. I made my way up to my room, and to my surprise my parents were both sound asleep. I closed my room door very slowly and locked it. I let out a breath and dropped my bag on the desk. Thank god there sleeping I thought I was going to get a ear full, about being out late. I grabbed my phone and a towel and went into my bathroom. After about 45 min I was done with my shower , and had already put on my essentials. The only thing I had to do left was brush my teeth and skincare. I was in the bathroom with my fuzzy bunny hair headband, and my pjs, that came with the matching red slides. I was getting ready to lay out the products for my nightly routine, when my phone started ringing. I turned my full attention to my phone, and saw that Mikey (Micheal) was calling me. I immediately answered

Hey cutie, what you up to ?

I was actually about to do my skincare, what about you, Mr football captain, working on your plays.

(Michael laughs ) Very funny shortcake, I'll love to talk more on that, but did I hear that right your doing Skin Care.

Omg 😆 is it so hard to believe that men do skincare too, you know I'm trying to help you, if you don't start now, then your just going to look like shit my friend

{We both laughed at that 😂}

Well I'll try to keep that in mind, but I'm sure a little soap and water would do the trick

{ I rolled my eyes playfully, as I started to apply my cleanser to my face}

So what's up, why a call so late

I can't call you cutie

I mean I didn't say that, I just want to know since you usually just text me and call me within the earlier parts of the day

{it was quite on the line for a little bit until I heard tussling, I'm assuming he moved from his position.

I guess I just miss you cutie, we haven't seen each other in a bit, and I want us to go do something.

What exactly do you have in mind 🤔

Don't worry about that It'll be a surprise, I got my confirmation of you saying yes to hang out, good night short stack.

End Call 📞......

{ Before I could tell him wait, he already had hung up}

Well I guess I'm hanging out with Mikey, and he said it was a surprise so I'll just wait to see what he has up he's sleeve. I didn't take me too long to finish up my skin care routine. After that, I put my phone on the charger, climbed into my bed and drifted off to sleep. When I woke up, it was exactly 6:50 AM, I got up and grabbed my towel and entered my bathroom to get ready for school. When I was done, I quickly went to my closet to figure out what I'm going to wear today. I eventually went with a blue baby T with the words, Lucky star on it a blue, white and light green flannel, and to pair with that, I wore a light gray cargo pants, and some white dunks. When I was done getting dressed, I took my phone off the charger and placed my book bag on my back, I saw that it was now 7:30, I spritzed on some cologne, and quickly make my way downstairs to grab something light for breakfast. I settled on a pop tart, and a water and I was out the door.

A little while later, I made it to the school, I found a parking spot right next to the schools entrance, immediately I beeline to get that parking spot. Gladly I got it, before anyone else did, I grabbed my bag, and placed my phone in my pocket, and got out my car and locked it. I walked into halls and went straight to my locker. As soon as I open my locker, all of a sudden I felt arms reach around me and lifting me up in the air. I reacted immediately and look down to see who arms were around me, to my surprise. It was Mikey. I smiled and hugged him back as he held me in the air. " Ok Mikey you can put me down" I began to giggle at his antics. " But also, what are you doing here, when you said you'd surprise me, I didn't think it would literally be the next day and at school" Mikey slowly place me on the ground and continue to stay in my eyes. "Well, it wouldn't be a surprise without me surprising you, Plus, I thought why not see you before your first class starts". I was about to reply to him when, at the corner of my eye, I saw Xavier staring right at us, and making his way over, really mad.
