BRICE POV
I can't help but think about the mountain vacation tomorrow. The issues in Tiger Bandits are already settled but my heart is still not at ease.
I am walking in the hallway, towards Sir Rio's office. I want to ask him more about this. Maybe, I could even trade some confidential information. I don't want to climb that up without knowing what they prepared for us.
I knocked twice.
Then the door was opened by the person I wanted to avoid at most.
"Oh," Niccolo's lips parted then slowly formed into a smile. "I think I know the reason why you're here." He opened the door wider. "Come in,"
I only stared at him then quietly went inside the room. When I saw how serious Sir Rio's eyes are, I knew it would be hard to get some information in this situation.
"Sit, sit," Niccolo pointed to the chair in front of him. It must be nice treating the principal's room as his own.
"Sir Lewis, what's the reason for your visit?" Sir Rio asked.
I faced him after sitting down. "I want to ask about the mountain vacation tomorrow,"
"Let's hear your questions,"
I saw how Niccolo leaned back to his seat.
"I want to ask about the food you will provide to us. Is it canned food or a full meal?"
"Just like your teacher announced, we will provide the food and the equipment. And the food we will give is all canned goods. That's the essence of camping, cook on your own." He shrugged.
Canned goods will be hard to estimate, since some of us eat more than a can.
I nodded. "I understand," I attempted to stand up but I heard Niccolo snickered.
"I don't think that's all," Niccolo sat properly. "Come on, alam ko naman kung bakit ka nandito eh. You want to ask why the so-called vacation for students became like this, right?"
I only gulped when I heard him. I didn't respond to him since that was my ultimate goal for today's visit.
This..this feels like they're isolating us. Away from the people.
"Yes," I stood up. "But I changed my mind. We'll be prepared anyway." I turned my back to them.
"How about... I will allow Sir Rio to tell you something?" I stopped. "In exchange for allowing us to get more supplies."
My eyebrows met each other as I pondered whether to accept it or not. Niccolo wants to trade something, maybe he knows that this is not just a vacation.
I looked at them once again. Niccolo's eyes were amused, like he just won in this round. He won, capturing my interest. And when I looked at Sir Rio, I saw him staring at the back of Niccolo's head with worry.
"Why do you think I will accept your bait?" I arched my eyebrow as I stared at Niccolo.
He shrugged. "My classmates are not fond of these things. It will be safer to have more than supplies."
He has a point. And if I could choose, I will also choose extra supplies rather than information. We have a one bag per person policy and if we lose the supplies the school will give, it will be hard for us to eat properly.
Should I sacrifice some of my clothes?
"I accept," I went back to my seat. "But please make this invitation worth it or else, I will not allow Alpha to take the extra supplies."
