Another Chance | Aki x Reader

29: "Less than five years..."

Sitting on your couch, you decide to get a bag so you can pack some snacks for Aki. You head to your kitchen and take out bread, ham, cheese, lettuce, and mayo. You decide to make him a quick sandwich along with some cut-up fruit. "This should be good enough for him... I think," you thought as you packed the food in a plastic bag.

You were currently wearing a white sleeveless shirt with some denim jeans. You didn't want to potentially overdress since it was just going to be at a gymnasium- the training grounds for Division 2, to be more specific.

You heard a knock at the door and sped to it since you knew it would be Aki. You open the door and almost slip but catch yourself as you lean on the door. "Hey, Aki," you say with slight excitement.

Aki smiles at you, "Hello y/n, ready to go?"

"Yup! Let me get my bag with your 'after boxing snacks,' and we can head out!"

Aki adored your small actions and how your voice jumped when you were excited; he found it adorable. "Aw, you made me food. You're too kind. What would I do without you?" he teases.

"Not sure,  probably be a little grumpier than you are now," you banter as you head back for your bag.

He chuckles, "Hm, probably."

You grab the lunch bag and your scythe. You turn to Aki, "Ya never know, right? Better to be prepared just in case!"

Soon you and Aki head out and drive to where the boxing matches are taking place. You see Angel standing in front of the gymnasium. You smile and wave at him, "Hey, Angel!"

"Hello, humans," he says tiredly, "what's in the bag?"

"Oh, I brought food; you can have some if you would like," you respond, opening the bag to show Angel the sandwiches you made.

Aki scoffs, "Hey, I thought that was for me?"

You turn towards him, "Some of it is, but I made extra just in case I got hungry. But Angel can have my portions."

"Thank you, nicer human," Angel says with a soft smile.

All of you head inside the gym. A few men start to circle and greet Aki. They also begin to tease him when they see you walking alongside him.

"Aki, this is a first; you brought a girlfriend? She's beautiful," one man states. "Were you hiding her from us? I can see why," another man teases.

You just laugh at their battening, "Relax, you guys," Aki says, "she's one of my new partners."

You reach out your hand to introduce yourself, "Hello, my name is L/n F/n."

"Ohh, your L/n, I've heard about you. You're the really good devil hunter Makima recruited, correct?" a man commented.

You smile, "Yup, that's me. Very nice to meet all of you."

You say your final greetings and head back with Angel to take a seat on the benches towards the side of the gym.

"So how have you been, Angel," you ask, trying to spark conversation.

"I've been better. I don't want to be here, but I have to in case work pops up. I see you came prepared  as well."

"Yup, you never know when a devil might show up that we have to execute."

Angel hums, "So do you like Aki? I sorta get a vibe from you that you do."

You laugh nervously, "Ha, aren't you an observant one."

Angel shrugs, "Well, you are always staring at him and blush when you're around him."
