I got in my truck after a long day of work and drove home.
It had been a week since I sent my CD in and I hadn't heard anything so I figured I wasn't going to get the job.
Not only that but it turns out that the man with the black eyes had come in while I was at break so today just wasn't me day.
I pulled into the drive way and turned off the truck.
The outside of the house was a pale yellow and it had hyacinthus in long pots at every window.
As I walked in Mom ran up to me with a huge smile
"I have been dying waiting for you to come home, I almost opened while you were gone" Mom said
"Opened what?" I asked and Mom handed me a letter.
I didn't understand what to big deal was until I saw it was from a music company.
"No way" I said before running over to the couch and sitting down I then ripped the side of the letter and pulled out the paper inside and as I unfolded it a smaller piece of paper fell out and I set it aside to look at after.

I finished reading the letter and picked up the papers I had set aside to see two first class plane tickets to Manhattan New York.
I sat there just staring between the letter and the plane tickets not believing this was actually happening.
"You made it!" Mom yelled excitedly
"I-I made it" I said still a little shocked
"So when do you leave?" Mom asked scooting closer to get a better look at the tickets.
"Um...in two days" I said looking at the date on the tickets
"So who are you taking with you? Are you going to bring Cecil? Or maybe Lou Ellen?" Mom asked
"No, I want to take someone else. Someone who has always supported me and cheered me on" I said
"And whose that?" Mom asked
"I was thinking about taking you" I said
"Will, I...are you sure?" Mom asked her eyes a little teary
"Of course, I know your not going to move there but I would love to have you there as I start this job. I only wish I could tell Dad all about this and have him come as well" I said
"He would be so proud of you right now" Mom said
"I'm going to be a singer!" I yelled happily
"First, you have to pack" Mom said.
"I have to also tell Cecil and Lou Ellen as well as work" I said.
"Well then, go tell them then come back and pack" Mom said with a smile.
