What if, after all of Eda's effort for Serkan to remember their love. She decided to leave Turkey and pursue her dream without the man she love most. Giving her time for herself and started her own life with her Aunt and three best friends.
He was in Qatar for a month. The Qatar project is one of the biggest project they have this year. He's exhausted, he needs a break. He's back for an important investors meetings in Silé. He went straight from the airport to make sure he wasn't late the next day and he wants to sea the beach. After making sure all his things were settled in his hotel room, he went out for a walk.
He inhaled the fresh sea breeze. "Last time I was in a beach, I was with you." He stared at the photo in his hand. The same photo Eda left that night he followed her to the Temple of Apollo in Antalya.
The last five years hadn't been easy. He made sure he works non stop for him to forget. But every time he was left alone, he always remember Eda. Eda. He thought, his hands in his pocket, eyes staring straight towards the blue water. He had heard many good things about her the past couple of years. She now making a name around Europe. He's read some of the landscape magazines with her work and he couldn't be more proud.
He smiled at the thought. He heard a giggle from a far. He turned and look. A little girl with long brown hair was running barefoot on the sand. He smiles. This is why I had to gave you up Eda. He sighed, staring down, removed his shoes and dig his feet into the sand. Looked at the little girl, she was heading towards the restaurant near the dock, her mother he presumed staring out to the horizon.
Eda stared at the horizon. Kiraz had been asking her to go to the beach and she obliged. They've moved to Silé six months ago when she was offered a project in one of the resorts here. Eda loves it here, it wasn't a busy buzzing city like Istanbul or Rome. Kiraz, her four year old daughter loves the sea. Like her, she can stare at it all day and will never get tired of it. A while ago, they were just chasing each other barefooted, Kiraz needed some ice cream and went to Melo to get one and she was left here.
She hear her phone ring and answered quick. It was her Aunt asking what they want to eat for dinner. "Whatever you can cook, Auntie. I'm sure Kiraz will love it." She walked towards her right, where the lounge chairs were, and saw someone going her way on her peripheral vision. "We won't be long. Melo will be heading home soon, so we'll go together.... See you later Auntie." She ended the call and walk towards one of the lounge chairs, while checking her phone with the photos she took of Kiraz. When she heard someone call her name.
He was heading towards the docks, just walking slowly when he saw the woman walking, obviously talking to someone on the phone. She looks very familiar. Just when she was about to approach one of the lounge chairs, he saw her face.
Eda? He took a few more steps.
Is it her? He stopped, trying to figure out if was just his head playing a trick on him.
The last time he saw her was on her graduation day five years ago and never saw her since. Even her friends started to leave Istanbul after they broke up. Melo from what Serkan heard, moved with Ayfer somewhere here in Turkey and was never seen again.
He closed his eyes for a few seconds and open again.
No, that can't be her, she's in Europe. She will never come back here. Get a grip man, every girl you see, reminds you of her. This is all in your head. He took another step, his heart beating faster and faster for every step he take. He was about five feet away from her she he saw her smile, looking at the screen of her phone, and saw her dimples.
"Eda?" He said out loud. He was standing still, dropping his shoes on the sand as she slowly turn to face the person who was calling her name.
God she's still very beautiful. He swallowed a lump on his throat as the light from the sun hit her face.
He closed his eyes and looked again. She was still there. He stared for a long time. She looks at him, her eyes wide, those beautiful brown eyes, her plump lips and pointed nose, her prominent cheekbones. She smiles at him.
"Serkan!" Eda finally said. She didn't expect to see him here. He never liked going to the beach.
He started walking towards her. Still unsure if she was real. He had imagined this scene many times and boy he wished this wasn't just happening inside his head.
He release a sigh of relief as he got nearer. "Eda" was all he can say. He'd been dreaming of this for years, and now she's here, in front of him.
"I can't believe you're in Turkey." Serkan said.
" I can't believe you're not working." Eda answered back and chuckled. He had been so obsessed with work, it's a miracle he's on the beach feeling the sand on his feet.
Eda stared at his face, he was still very handsome. His hair a little longer, his beard thicker, but he looks healthier.
"How are you? How is your health?" Eda can't help but ask. "I'm in complete remission. They said I'm cured." "That good news Serkan, congratulations." She said and smile.
You haven't changed a bit, still very handsome. Eda cleared her throat, to keep herself from saying nonsense.
He took the gap between the two of them and gave her a warm embrace. She was taken aback with his gesture but hugged him back.
They hugged for a while, both glad. Eda can hear her heart beating fast. For Serkan this was a realization that she was really here and for Eda, it's a sign. Whatever it may be, their paths have crossed for a reason.
You still wear the same perfume you used from years ago, my peri kizi. He was biting his tongue to prevent himself from saying all his thoughts out loud.
They were glued on the same spot hugging each other, when Eda felt someone tugging the hem of her shirt. She pushed Serkan a little to check and saw Kiraz looking up. She stepped back, looking at her daughter. Her eyes looking at both her and Serkan.
Tell me what you think.. though, this epilogue was shown in the series.. i just wanted to give both Eda and Serkan their POV.. just because.. anyway.. we still have Remember Me and Someone I Used to Know.. to which I'll update once a week..
Have a good one y'all.. and I'll see you on the next one.
